Had a great trail riding experience orgranised by Chapman Valley Horse Riding. We had had next to no riding experience (the last time we rode was more than 10 years ago), but the guide, Connor, made sure it was safe and enjoyable throughout.

Horses are well-trained and they all come with handsome look to boot - all in all highly recommended.

My favourite part of the muster was the care shown by all staff to the livestock. This extended to include matching riders with a horse for their level of riding experience.
Upon arrival in the morning we were met by staff who were friendly and professional, yet clearly a family run property.
All of the facilities were very clean, even feed and cattle yards.
Staff were experienced, checking in regularly with the group during the muster. All levels of riders were welcomed as the group was small.
The day was fun, well run, and was a genuine muster experience bringing in several mob of cattle.
This was a day I will not forget and I already decided to to a two or three day muster next time.
Cannot speak more highly of this wonderful experience on a breath takingly beautiful property mustering magnificent cattle on well educated and cared for horses. A truly amazing day!

Couldn’t recommend Chapman Valley more highly; Jess looks after her horses like family members; while Peter & Mary are your archetypal welcoming and knowledgeable farming couple. The property has expansive, stunning and varied scenery, whilst “Possum” the bull will challenge even the most experienced cow poke. A truly authentic experience, that won’t disappoint.

I signed up for a 4 hr ride with my teenage son so I'd be a bit more prepared for a 3 day muster I'm doing in April.
Everything about this experience was excellent. Caring, thoughtful staff, beautifully trained and cared for horses, gorgeous scenery.
I've been on lots of trail rides at other place, both here and OS, and what I found best about this place was the way we were matched to our horses (based on experience) and briefed on how best to work with them to get the most out of the experience. The volunteer staff who rode with us were incredibly helpful as well. They were very patient with taking photos and also with working with riders of varying levels of experience and confidence.
Quite a few things here are done differently to other places - the extended safety briefing, the rules on horses not eating at all during the ride, the single file trotting and cantering to prevent any racing/competition (with the line-up constantly changing so as not to reinforce any pecking order with the horses), managing the dynamics between the horses, not permitting any trotting or cantering on the way home to avoid bolting. I loved every minute of it and can't wait for my muster!! Thanks again to all the staff and volunteers for a wonderful day.

My husband and I went on the one day muster. To be honest we didn’t expect much. We can both ride and have had a bit to do with cattle but always owned our own horses. I have to say I was very impressed with everything! The horses were very sweet and in good condition, the cattle were spectacular, the owner Jess and the other guides were beyond lovely. We had a wonderful day and a delicious chicken and salad sandwich at lunch. It’s a beautiful property and a real credit to Jess. I would recommend this anyone, whether you’re a total beginner, or an experienced rider, you will have a ball here. We will definitely go back, that’s for sure

It was so good to get a full day ride in at this beautiful scenic property with our great guide Marg. The horses are superb and seemed to love taking us around the property , they are sure footed and happy to go as fast or slow as you want. The flannel flowers were out en masse which added to a perfect break out from COVID restrictions.

Great spacious area for camping on private sites. Dry camping: no running water or toilet facilities, but able to drive to communal area RRP use amenities block, worth it for the privacy. Lovely nights with campfires and good spots to bush bash.

When we arrived we were greeted by two very friendly girls and their dog. We fitted out into our riding gear were introduced to our horses then saddles up and were given riding instruction and told about each of our horses temperaments. We then set off on a two hour ride. We were told about the property and had a couple of goes at trotting. All in all a good two hours spent with friendly people with helpful instruction to improve our riding skills.

I've just had the pleasure of participating in the 3 day cattle muster. 6500 acres of beautiful country to explore, searching for cattle! Thank you Peter, Mary, Jess, Kona & Zoe who where very welcoming & made us feel part of the family. It was a great 3 days, couldn't fault it. Nothing was a problem, always happy to answer any of your questions & if you needed a hand with anything they were always willing to help. It was a very relaxed environment, just what you want if you are there to unwind from your busy lives. Attending to your own horse daily was your responsibility & also very rewarding (I hope Bullseye doesn't miss me too much). The food was cooked with love & we never went hungry! Lovely quiet cattle, except for one obstructive bull. So if you want to experience farm life then this is the place for you. They will try & include you in most things around the property. Peter is 5th generation & a very humble, knowledgeable man. Jess is 6th generation, skillfull & very competent in all things farming. If you are keen for the muster don't wait to book as it books out usually within hours (only 6 spots). I recommend you take that step, you won't regret it. This is an experience I will never forget! Thank you to the Chapman Valley team! This experience will stay with me forever.

Chapman Valley is my favourite place to ride! There are separate rides for all levels of ability and experience as well as longer rides up to 6 hours and multi-day cattle musters. The property is beautiful, with a great mix of open areas, hilly climbs and bush trails. All the horses have a lovely temperament, are willing and responsive. You can also bring your own horse and camp on the property, with bbq amenities and bathrooms including a shower with hot water. All the guides are lovely, going out of their way to make sure you have a great ride - especially the owner Jess, and Margaret. Definitely recommend Chapman Valley to anyone, especially the more experienced riders as there are plenty of opportunities to canter and gallop (on the experienced rides :-))
