The city is taking over this for office space so it is no longer a tourist destination. Hamm House is still viewable

Honestly, I expected it to be more of a jail museum. It turned out to be more of a civil war museum. There's a very small jail portion there. I'm not disappointed that we went, just not what was expected.

Dubuque is a great city to visit. Unfortunately the Old Jail did not impress us or our out of town guests. Save the money for larger metro museums and enjoy the river walk and in winter the ski resorts. Just OK.

Kind of pricey for what it is. Still was something different to do on a day trip to Dubuque. Would of been neat to have stories about the prisoners maybe. I have 2 boys & that would of interested them.

This is a very small attraction, not worth stopping. It is basically just an old jail, not sure what the draw is.

I have a niece who is intrigued by the old-time jails. There was a small museum area, but the winner was the real jail cells that are housing extremely realistic mannequins...
