I've actually visited twice, once over 20 years ago and again this past summer. Although the tour is a little pricey, it's wonderful to get an up-close view of the effects of water on rock.

Completely surprised when we found brochure about caverns at out hotel. It is just the right size for a brief break from hiking. Must be able to go up/down a staircase into cavern. Some puddles inside depending on outside weather so don't wear Sunday best or new tennis! Privately owned, maybe a bit overpriced.

A bit tight in places and not for anyone who is challenged on foot, because spaces can be a little difficult to navigate. But a nice little cave, staffed by very nice employees. Cool little gift/rock shop.

Took girls 4 and 9 to the Cave on a rainy day during a Galena trip. The tour is ~ 40 minutes long and was interesting. The kids loved it. There were some tight squeezes and some necessary ducking in some of the smaller passageways. Overall I was pleasantly surprised! Pretty formations, easy day trip from Galena, Kids had a... More

I had been to this cave when I was a kid, 30 years ago. I recently took my kids there. It is a great place to visit, my kids (10 and 7) had a great time. One caution, I had to duck at least half of the tour. If you are over 6', prepare to duck as it gets tight... More

This is a small cave with small treasures but they're enjoyable anyway. I went after a hard rain and my feet got wet from puddles on the cave floor. The guide did a good job.

My wife and I had some free time on a Monday afternoon, so we went for a tour later in the afternoon. We were the only ones there, so was hopeful that we'd have a smaller tour, which we thought would be good given the small space of a typical cave. Unfortunately, they saw a van coming up the drive... I am from "cave country" Missouri, so I have been in a lot of caves and even provided tours in one that had not artificial lighting. Although I prefer no permanently installed lighting in caves, this cave had minimal lighting that wasn't too tacky (only one place and it was only a small display of colored lights. It was a... We loved our tour through this cave. It was a nice 52 degrees down there and we saw a lot of neat cave formations. We only wish the cave tour was longer. If you take this tour, be aware that there are puddles that will get your shoes wet so be sure you don't wear any shoes too nice. If... More

We have been to quite a few caves at this point. We did not do the wild cave tour, though this was offered which would have involved crawling. Instead we did the regular tour. As always, lots of great places to stop to take pictures. The deepest locations were cool to look into but were hard to see if the... More
