The layout of so many types of plants is welcoming and educational--and free! Much parking is available. The Japanese garden is a bit more informal than others of the type, but it is well-laid-out and elegant, whether to learn more about plants or just to commune with nature.

I stopped at the Dubuque Botanical Gardens just looking for a break as I was on a business trip in town for a couple of days. It is not a large botanical gardens, but was really well maintained. I'm comparing it to Chicagos, Montreals, and even some that were a little smaller like Boerner in Milwaukee (really nice one). All-in-all,... More

It is a beautiful, well-maintained garden and arboretum. We attended a service our local church had at the picnic area. This park is just beautiful and very well maintained. Our only disappointment is that dogs are not allowed. Our little one would love a walk there!

It is unbelievable that this large park and gardens are free. There are many plants and flowers to see. The Koi pond was being repaired and detracted from what would be a great centerpiece to the grounds. We enjoyed seeing and photographing the birds (hummingbirds, cardinals, finches, wrens, ...) around the bird feeders.

We spent about an hour or so walking around this beautiful garden. It's FREE to get in, which I thought was incredible considering how well done the garden is. Other botanical gardens I've been to don't have many mature trees. This one has trees in abundance, which was wonderful. I especially liked the hostas garden which felt almost tucked away... More

Nice garden, too bad we ran into yet another large family that has no manners and children are out of control. Sad to see them breaking the displays.
