Love the roses, and hostas and summer flowers, - great place for summer Sunday night concerts and a picnic lunch.

Wonderful gardens and much to see and enjoy here at the Dubuque Arboretum. For the size of Dubuque, it is a marvelous testament to the gardeners and nature lovers of the area. The varieties of plants and areas to enjoy are numerous and there is plenty of space to wander in solitude, Herb gardens, roses, perennials, annual displays, Japanese gardens,... More

This is a newer garden, but well planned out. There is a decent Japanese garden area, English formal garden, hosta garden and more. They have some nice areas for kids. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is not set up with many paved paths, so difficult to bring someone whose mobility challenged, but otherwise, you can spend a couple... More

We have visited in Spring, Summer and Fall. Love to see close up how the flowers and foliage grow and change. Enjoy the many walking paths and quite seating areas.

Loved seeing so many roses in bloom in the middle of October. The Japanese garden is beautiful too. We plan on going back in Spring or Summer to take in all the beauty the garden has to offer.

I was really excited to check out the gardens, but when we went today, there was almost nothing left bloomed. The staff we encountered was very nice, but they had a lot of people doing work on the gardens (probably since we had a hard frost the night before). Maybe if we come back in the summer it will be... We thoroughly enjoy walking around the arboretum in Dubuque. It is fantastic for a community this size and rivals centers in much larger metro areas. The water features make outstanding backdrops for family, personal or wedding pictures. In the Late spring and early summer the roses are awesome. Like to walk? Be with nature? See a large variety of plants... More

A lovingly created and maintained series of gardens with various themes. The rose garden and Japanese garden are my favorites.
