In town for a track meet and needed some diversion. It was a two hour event to walk the zoo and do it right. The rhinos are good, the giraffes fun to feed. Stop in and enjoy this Des Moines gem.

Des Moines Zoo caters to small children. There is a petting area, a train and super smart seals! The penguins are so cute. They have a baby rhino! The small grand children were shy at first then I had to keep up with them! It...More

Compact zoo that packs a bunch in a small area. Paths are well shaded and clean leading to some closeup views of the animals. Zoo exhibits include rhinos, red panda, tiger, lions, and seals just to mention a few. As has been pointed out by...More

Certainly not the largest zoo I have visited, but it was clean, with shady areas to keep cool and refreshments were available.

Don’t come in expecting a big city zoo like St. Louis or Omaha and you won’t be disappointed. Several indoor and outdoor displays with a good variety of animals to see. Some of the highlights for our family were the Australian outback area where the...More

The Blank Park Zoo is one of my favorite zoos out there. It's a smaller zoo than most, but it's so worth admission. There's a great variety of animals, food options are fairly well priced, the staff is friendly and interactive and most importantly the...More

The Blank Park Zoo is a great place to get a walk in thanks to my season pass. The lion cubs are adorable and the upgrades are fantastic. Can’t wait to go again.
