Blank Park Zoo is a small zoo but I found it enjoyable. There wasn't a lot of animals but the exhibits they had was good. The zoo had a lot of educational programs and information about each animal. There was plenty of food stands and restrooms. Very clean.

Blank Park Zoo is the perfect size for a relaxing Saturday stroll. Our visit was about 3 hours on a 90 degree day. We purchased our tickets online and saved money (~$6 for a family of 4). We also opted for the "total experience" tickets for the kids. For an additional $7 per kid they were able to ride the... More

It it hard to give a full review, as I was there on a very hot day (90+), so several of the animals were off exhibit/taken somewhere inside; we saw no rhino, giraffes, or tigers. We did enjoy what we were able to see, but it didn't take us long to get through the zoo due to not having to... More

I love the Blank Park Zoo! It is smaller than most zoos, but that's why it's so great. It is affordable with a lot of great activities for families all around the zoo. Most animals have activities to help kids learn about the different creatures at the zoo. They also have various events throughout the year that include Santa &... More

This was a smaller zoo than most we've visited with some interesting exhibits. We didn't notice a lot of staff on hand. It would be a nice zoo for younger children or older folks to visit because all the exhibits can easily be seen in a morning or afternoon visit. There was a special event going on during the morning... More

Blank Park Zoo is a small friendly zoo. Tigers, Sea Lions and seals, Camels, Penguins, Sea Otters and More. Economical to attend. Try to go to the animal feedings and the shows such as the Sea Lion Show. Easy to do in a day. Strollers Welcome.

I so much enjoyed this smaller zoo! The layout allowed for meandering about, taking time to watch animals who were close enough to see. There was a very nice rain forest exhibit and a good Australian exhibit, budgie feeding, giraffe feeding. Loved the pollinator gardens and the staff and volunteers were very kind and answered questions. Definitely worth a visit!... More

Wonderful trip worth the money and a great way to spend a few hours. Gift shop kind of expensive but then again it's the zoo.

Our zoo membership we have from another zoo in Texas enabled to us to visit the Des Moines zoo free. The zoo is an easy walk around, on a small scale (similar to Cameron Zoo in Waco). Some hands on activities for kids - playground, camel ride, small track train ride, Lots of summer school buses at zoo on day... More
