For 11 days in August, it’s a fairground, but for the other 354 days of the year, the Iowa State Fairgrounds is home to auto shows, livestock exhibitions, flea markets, antique shows, concerts, trade shows and more. See what’s happening this month...more

My parents first took me to the fair when I was one. I have gone almost every year. It is always new. yet there are things I visit every year. Good is expensive, but you can get some things only there.
There is something about a state fair. Iowa's staye fair is not only a true food experience for the adults it is also food on a stick for the kids. Kids can also see and touch all the baby farm animals. If you time it...More
The Iowa State Fair is one of the nation’s best. I’ve been to the Texas and Arizona State Fairs, as well as The Orange County, CA Fair and Iowa tops them all. Bring an appetite and do some preparation beforehand to map out what you...More
The Iowa State Fair happens once per year for ten days in August. The food will give you indigestion, but you won't be able to resist. Perhaps the one bright spot for food is the Jennie Grinder. I can never go to State Fair and...More

The grandstand use be part of a race track. It is covered, but any seats close to the stage wouldn't be covered. The grandstand was renovated a couple of years ago, restrooms and concessions very nice. Grandstand is on main concourse, every concession you could want is available. I highly recommend the porkchop on a stick. If you like craft beer search out the Iowa craft beer tent. Parking can be bit of hassle. Parking is available downtown and DART shuttles drop you off about a half mile from the grandstand.
I am attending a horse show at the Ohio Expo Center/State Fairgrounds. I would like to know of any nice hotels in the area. I would like something fairly close and want to avoid getting stuck in traffic on my way from the hotel back to the fairgrounds. I stayed at the comfort Suites last year and it was terrible. They really let it get run down.

the nice thing about the fairgrounds is that you're right off of I-70 so you can go north or south... I'd go south. for a nice basic hotel check out the Red Roof Inn downtown (Nationwide Blvd) or Drury Inn (also on Naationwide)... only a 10 minute drive from the fairgrounds. There's a convention center downtown so finding a room downtown can either be easy peasey or next to impossible the side bonus is, if you can get a room downtown, you'll be within walking distance of a ton of other...More

Hello, We will be travelling from Orlando to Tampa Amphitheatre at Florida State Fairgrounds for the bruce Springsteen concert on May 1st. So, is car parking easy? Is it free and how soon should I arrive? Thanks.

It is easy. Earlier you get there closer it is to park. Has always been free for concerts. Enjoy the show
