This lake is gorgeous. The colored bridge (the colored lights turn on at night) is wonderful. There are plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy yourself here. If you are looking for a park to have some solitude this is not the park to go to. There are almost always people at this park all day and all night until... More

We took our daughter's puppy around the lake for an afternoon stroll. It was beautiful, peaceful and a perfect distance. I loved that there were bridges and great natural scenery to enjoy along the way.

You can jog the trail or ride a bike, fish, rent a paddle boat, enjoy the beach or play frisbee on the grass. This place was not as nice 20 years ago but they have really improved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this lake and the surrounding trail. It's beautiful paved and easily accessible and perfectly flat. It goes around the lake and though it's short (i went around twice to compensate) it's lovely and worthwhile. You can also rent water activity equipment.

By the time we moved in to Des Moines, it was close to noon and were in badly need of a place for relax. Gary's Lake Park is an ideal place for that in the city, where one could relax under a shades of trees. A walkway around the lake allow park visitors to have walking exercises and the lake... More

My husband requested we go to Gray's Lake to grill out for a Father's Day picnic this year. It was a blistering hot day but there was shade and plenty of tables available. There are tables around the lake along the trail which is a fantastic walk. Many people also bike, jog, rollerblade or exercise their dogs on the trail... More

Love this area, great 3 mile, mostly flat walking trail around a pretty lake. Lovely pedestrian bridge that is colorful, recreation rentals available such as stand up paddle boarding $5 for 30 minites, kayaks, sail boats, peddle boats. Very clean park with lots of families, runners, bicycle riders, always a pleasure to walk around this beautiful lake with lots of... More

We enjoyed a walk around the lake and got a kick out of reading the messages on the plaques along the Gray's Lake Park Bridge. It's a testament to the support of the community that additional plaques can no longer be purchased. We encountered several people looking for Pokémon Go. Funny. We were sorry to see the number of large,... More

Wife and I went here for our anniversary. It's a small lake with lots of activity and they have cheap paddle boat, paddle boarding and other water based activites.

My husband and I went to the park and rented kayaks. It was nice to have all the equipment we needed available for us. It was very inexpensive and we had a great time on the lake. The staff was very helpful and we can't wait to go back.
