Open to visitors since September 2009, the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park features artwork by 22 of the world's most celebrated artists.

The 4.4 Acre park, located within a major crossroads of the urban grid, creates a pedestrian friendly entranceway to downtown Des Moines. This accessible setting, coupled with the skilled landscape design and caliber of the art, makes it unlike any other sculpture park in the United States. The Pappajohns' contribution of 28 works for the park is the most significant donation of artwork ever made to the Des Moines Art Center.

one great sculpture after another

very close to downtown Des Moines. I liked seeing the new copper library and then the park. I had good Vietnamese food afterwards at A Dong

This sculpture park is free. It's a city block square. All the sculptures are tagged with the artist's name and the year completed. We enjoyed the walk-about.

The sculptures are really neat and detailed. Had fun taking pictures of it and really enjoyed the park too. Stop by here if you're around the area. Really cool sculptures!

If you want to see a collection of uniques art, this is a must see in the Midwest. This is such a fine collection that it is used as a backdrop for one of the most exclusive art shows in the country. Close to dining, library, and other amenities as well.

There are so many beautiful sculptures to look at. All are so different yet all make quite a statement. Great to just wander through here and plenty of stops to sit and soak it all up.

The Pappajohn family had all of these sculptures in their yard and donated them to the City for the sculpture walk. It's definitely worth the walk thru the park - each sculpture is totally unique and one of a kind.

We had gone to the art museum earlier that afternoon and decided to stop by the outdoor sculpture park before leaving town, and we're very glad we did!

So glad our city is trying to build its culture and provide some art abd green spaces. However, the selection of art pieces is atrocious! You have black and white balls, a crazy mean looking rabbit, items that look like kidney beans, again in metal and not pretty. With as much money they put in here you would think they... More

Lots of great areas to sit and relax while the kids ran around catching Pokemon. Lots of families enjoying the park and spending time together. The kids had lots of fun and we were able to relax under a shade tree.
