I visited Pappajohn Sculpture Park while in Des Moines. It is a very whimsical park with interesting sculptures throughout. At night the sculptures are lit up and it is visible upon entry to downtown Des Moines from the west.

There are tons of Pokemon things here-so says my husband and 13 year old who play it. We enjoy walking around, Pokemon hunting, and enjoying the artwork at this park. It is always clean and people are very friendly at it.

Great place to wander when the weather is nice. More sculptures arriving regularly. Nicely situated near several great restaurants, the Merideth garden is close and open in summer.

Unique sculpture park, surprisingly located right in the downtown area. Easily accessible by foot or vehicle. And it's free!

If you have time, definitely visit. Amazing structures with great stories and some decent exercise getting around too. So many sculptures and fun pictures to take, give yourself plenty of time to see everything.

Great question! Since the Pappajohn Sculpture Park is technically a city park, dogs are more than welcome.

Great question! The area is well-lit at night including street lights as well as individual spotlights on a number of the sculptures in the park.
