We had visited Mud Valley and Pin Valley National Park in June 2022 while visiting Tabo/Kaza/Pangi. This place has no network connectivity but it is a hidden gem. It is a typical trekkers' village who land up there after trekking from various points in Spiti valley. We travelled from Tabo on road and spent one night in Mud village. Kaza is about 45-50km from Mud Village. Our expert driver Mr. Rajkumar (+917876186496 / +919418587325) who has driven us on our earlier Himal trips was the best help to reach the place without much problem. The accommodation are typical homestays with a few small eating joints. We stayed in Ibex Homestay. It has a reasonably good restaurant and caters to guests even not staying in the homestay. The road is scenic and follow the river. You enjoy that more. There are many small villages on the way with small patches of vegetation. The road is relatively better considering its aloofness from the world. Typical night population is only a few hundred people and the valley from the village looks great. It is surrounded by peaks covered in snow. We also had the chance to see the herd of "Blue sheeps" / "Bharal" on our way on return. An excellent place and we enjoyed every bit of the same. The Homestays are very basic with hot water and small beds. Food is also very basic with limited choice. People follow Minimalistic approach here and very helpful. Many backpackers we could meet who have walked long distances to reach the place. But most travelers used Scorpio vehicles as the road is rocky and pebbled.

The roads are bad as soon you cut off from the main highway towards kaza. The trail has amazing landscapes along the way. We stayed at mudh which is the farthest we could go. The landscapes are amazing from there.

If losing yourself to magnanimity is what brought you to Spiti, this is the place to be. Stay at Mud village for a couple of days and trek around. You will not experience the beauty anywhere else!

Sorry to say that Pin Valley National Park is much farther that stated here. It is near kaza in spiti.People are reffering to a local children park in manali. Just google Pin Valley National Park you'll get the idea what I am talking about

As they say, you’ll never know your limits unless you push yourself to them. In August 2018 we thought of pushing ourselves for 110+ kilometers cross-over trek from lush green Parvati valley to cold arid Spiti valley in the Himalayas. With 17, 500 Feet to be gained above mean sea level, roaring Parvati and Pin rivers to be crossed innumerable times, some precarious vertical rocky wall sections to be negotiated, and acutely narrow trails to be traversed in 9 days, PIN PARVATI PASS appeared to be a perfect dose of challenge we were craving for! We drove from tabu to pin valley and the drive itself is amazing. Reached the village in the night. All you get is decent home stays and decent food. Trekked up the hill a bit in the morning before driving back to KAZA.

Fron the conflunce of Spiti and pin river..the journey along Pin river is a lifetime relishing moment fro eny traveller..the changing color of surrounding mountains..the rhythmic flow of Pin..welcome note by dangerous kirgarang nullah..beautiful hamlet Kungri and its monastery..Green Sagnam village..the finally Mudh village..always a travellers delight..

Pin Valley is must - visit when in the Spiti region. It can be accessed from the road leading from Tabo to Kaza, taking a turn on the bridge at Attargo. One passes the villages of Gulling (a turn off from the village takes you to Kungri Monastry), Sagnam (largish village with a Primary Health Centre) and then Mud, the last inhabited village in the Pin Valley, is about 34 kilometres from the main road. One hardly feels the drive, coasting along the aqua waters of the Pin River lined with stony mountains. There is a different barometer for rating of road quality in the mountains, and this access road is what locals would say is good. It is not tarred, but clear of stones and not bumpy. Mud is charming village and the Tara Guest House offers clean rooms with beautiful views of the valley. It is worth spending at least a night here, so that one can take advantage of the beautiful landscape. We did not hike very far, but it is a wonderful place for wandering about. The terrain is not very steep or harsh. If one is adventurous, it is possible to hire a guide to for longer, more focussed hikes and to catch a glimpse of at least the Ibex if not the more elusive Snow Leopard. Mud is also the place for longer treks to the Bhabha valley or Pin-Parvati pass.

A beautiful time i spent With my friends Named Adam Walter and Sadie Walter both from USA. we covered almost all the areas of National Park Including core area and buffer zone both. there is so many things for our excursions. in my opinion Pin Valley National Park is Suitable for all kind of intrests. i m so much happy after exploring the National Park.hope next time i will visit there sure.

The park is located in the desert habitat of the Spiti Valley, within the Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve, in the Himalayas region. This cold desert is situated from the height 11000 feet to 20000 feet and known for medicinal plants available only in this area. The landscape view is very beautiful and unique itself.

yes you need to go with the guide and you can camp there too. Sagnam -Thango-Shirim-Choyam-Debsa. all these places I explored with my friends.

Better to stay at Kaza ( hotel Deyzor ) or at Tabo ( Trojan Guest House). Preferably stay at Kaza and cover Pin valey from there , a day is enough to cover entire Pin Valley upto Mudh Village.
