DO NOT HAVE A BIRTHDAY PARTY AT BIG RIVER BOWLING!!
Sep 2017
This past weekend we tried to have a Birthday Party here and was it a mess! First off when we first booked I was suppose to get an email to finalize my additional food order well that never happened. It took 2 emails, 1 facebook message to get a response. So when we arrived which I was told I could come early to set up there were no tables ready , she came and pulled 2 tables together even though I stated we would have about 20 people. (The party I paid for was with twelve shoe rentals but two tables sat 8 people) I also said I wanted food at a specific time (2:45 the party started at 2) she came up to give me a total of where I was at and my food order was wrong first off and then my pizza came out at 2:20 when I still had guest arriving. Well part of it did I told her I was missing a pizza and she looked at me like she didn't know what to do. Well 25 minutes later that pizza came out after everyone was done eating and she laughed and said look at least this one came out when you wanted it to! As for bowling it was unlimited bowling for 2 hours well we got thru one game and our lanes wouldn't reset until both lanes were finished with their games. I said so they can't continue until the other lane gets finished?? She was like well you can blame me for that I kind of booked them together but they can still bowl just can't keep score REALLY are you serious!! The whole party was a complete joke! It was definitely a waste of money!

I've been told that they don't want customers who don't toe the MAGA cult line. So I guess only conservatives are permitted entry.

For my first review I wanted to make it a special one! Miller Time, (now Big River Bowling) is a fun experience for my husband and I and our two young children (4 and 7). We come here often for bowling and always enjoy there pizza! I'm excited to see they are starting to have more craft beers on tap. It's a great family friendly place and we certainly will keep coming back.

Went here w/ my husband and 2 small kids to bowl a game. Took coupons that we bought for charity event to buy one get one free and was told they no longer accept them, had small spill and was given towels vs helping to clean up, and at the end we asked for print out of our scores and even that was an undertaking. We will visit other bowling alleys in the future.

(This place is now called Big River Bowling)
I've tried this bowling alley a few times since it has changed ownership and I am not a fan. My last visit really pushed me over the edge. When I arrived to the bowling alley we went to the main desk to get a lane I was ignored by the two boys working. I finally had to say excuse me and the only response I got was "ya!" I told them I'd like to get a bumper lane for me and my kids and they said I'd have to wait because they have all the bumper lanes to the high school students. (Not sure why high school students needed bumper lanes?) I asked when they would be done and was told 5:30 and then the boy walked away. I asked the other one if he could tell me when I could get a lane and he said "ya!" And walked away. My family and I sat at the tables and watched all the bumper lanes clear out and no one said a word to us. So I walked to the counter and asked if we were ready since my kids were getting antsy and they said "no, no ones checked out!" However, I watched many students bring up shoes before leaving. So we ended up waiting a bit longer till a friend of mine showed up and went to the counter and asked if they had bumper lanes. They said yes and started to get her ready. When she asked for shoes the boy said we I hope you all plan on using "whatever size he said" and she said "excuse me but no we all have different shoe sizes" and the kid rudely rolled his eyes and said "well what do you want?"

The experience trying to get a lane was terrible. Luckily the lanes were fine once we started bowling however I won't be back. Bowlmore as well as other local bowling alleys offer better customer service.

We took our family of four bowling last Saturday afternoon. It was a fairly busy, but the staff was courteous and offered us the two Saturday options of regular bowling or "glow bowling". Our kids (ages 6 & 10) jumped on the chance for glow bowling since they don't get to do this during the late night hours. We paid the $25 for 1 hour plus shoe rental, figuring $37 for an hour would get us two games in the glow. The disappointment started when we were 2 lanes over from the regular bowling lights and I asked the youngest if she was having fun. She said, "We are barely under the lights." The major disappointment happened when we were in the 6th frame and our bowling stopped because the hour was up. We were on our 2nd game. I went to the counter to ask how we could finish up our game and they said I would have to pay another $25. I asked if there was just a way to pay for the frames left and they said no. $25 or nothing. I had to go back to my family and let them know that we couldn't finish. The look of disappointment was huge. We decided there are enough bowling alleys in the area that we won't be coming back to this one.

Our out of town family visitors wanted to go bowling. We thought it a little crazy going with grandkids ranging from 3 to 13 years of age at 9:00 pm. They did the research and found Miller Time nearby. We got a lane and bowled a couple of games. With lane bumpers and kiddy ramps everyone was able to bowl and have a great time. I think we've started a new holiday tradition. It's social, works on your coordination, and provides a modicum of exercise. We're sold! It's not fancy and the rental shoes and balls well used but that's normal I expect. We enjoyed reasonably priced beer, pop, and snacks during our bowling and plan on coming back to hone our modest skills before next year's gathering.

Went there at night. Some played pool ($8 an hour) and the others bowled ($3.75/game, $3 for shoe rental). Overall it was nice but just a bit pricey.

Signed up for a kids bowl free all summer program. We were able to utilize the program at least a dozen times. We were able to get a lane right away each time and the employees were very nice. They offered food and drink specials as well.
