I was very impressed with this market for several reasons - the first being the parking! I'm used to having to struggle to find parking for the farmer's market in Madison, WI so finding a spot within seconds of pulling in that you don't have to pay for, AMAZING! Second, the amount of vendors and how they are spread out is so nice, makes for a relaxing walk along the river while getting your shopping done. Third, in the heat of the summer you can continue to shop the many vendors at the indoor section and sit down for a bite to eat. Fourth, kid friendly all the way, a petting zoo, jumpy houses, air slides, etc. I would definitely make the 3 hour journey to come back to this several times!

We went on a Saturday morning to this Farmers Market and wish we hadn't eaten first! It was huge!! They have lots of food (and even alcoholic drinks), but they also have many other products to buy -- tons of produce and lots of decor items, clothing, flowers, coffee, candles, etc.

Most of the Market on Saturday morning is outside. There are only a few kiosks inside. We bought some delicous bread, summer sausage, and bleu cheese-stuffed olives. Yum!

This market has a wide variety of produce vendors, craft vendors, and hot food vendors. The produce looked very fresh and there were at least 4 different produce vendors there. A good place to stock up on fresh produce. The food vendors were offering free samples.
There were jewelry makers, and several people with both large and small paintings.
The indoor market was mostly food and crafts, but provided a nice respite from the heat. I bought some small watercolors depicting downtown Davenport from an artist inside for $5 a piece.
Would definitely recommend checking the market out on Saturday or Sunday mornings. There is free parking right next to the market. An excellent way to spend an hour in downtown Davenport.

We happened on the Freight House Farmer's Market... but it is SO much more than that. With your typical farm stands (with very friendly farmer personnel), they also have a great set of crafts people. With a full lot of booths, it would be easy to miss the inside vendors, but don't. Great food, unique jewelry and art, as well as soaps, homespun yarns, textiles, etc.

Be aware that not all of the produce is local, just be sure to ask if you care.

The market was packed with happy people strolling and shopping in the market, stall after stall outside with more inside. Produce, meat, arts & crafts and I don't what all for sale. My first visit was on this beautiful, cool September Saturday. I don't know if they always have a bounce castle ($3/5 minutes) and clown. Davenport Parks brought a mobile playground in an old fire engine. The place was a happy madhouse. Near the Quad Cities Visitor Center, Modern Woodman [Ball]Park, and The River's Edge (skating, soccer & more). There is plenty of parking, but some places can be a bit remote. The smart shoppers brought their own reusable bags.

The Freight House Farmers Market in Davenport has a wonderful selection of hand crafted items, locally grown fruits and produce, and local antibiotic free meats. It is a massive market every Saturday morning during the Spring and Summer months with vendors selling Chinese and Mexican foods, barbeque foods that smell delicious a mile away and lemonade stands--almost like a carnival but with healthy foods! Lots of plants to buy if you wish to garden, wine tasting and delicious baked goods as well. A wonderful experience, highly recommend. Will post pictures next time I visit. Try it out! ATM on site, but parking is a bit tight for space.

This farmers market is great! Lots of produce, handmade crafts, jewelry, soaps, furniture, plants, food trucks, and the list goes on...located near river trail, park, playground, baseball stadium, and brewery, museum, restaurants, so it can be an all day ‘thing’. Great place for families, couples, friends, singles....

Open Weekends- currently 8am to 1pm during August. besides the usual assortment homegrown produce you can find booth after booth of artsy craftsy items, fresh meats, cheese, honey, breads as well as the usual assortment of carnival food booths (funnel cakes, corn dogs, ice cream etc) along the scenic Mississippi River. Parking is free along the river but be prepared to fight for a spot close by. You may have to park a couple blocks away. Although many of the stalls have plastic grocery bags to put your purchases in you may still want to bring your own tote bags for carrying heavier items. You'll see a lot of the regular visitors pulling small carts and wagons around to carry their purchases. The freight house building itself has several little restaurants and cafes if you don't trust the street fare. Prices range from high to low... on average the produce is priced about the same as what you would find in your local grocery store but you have a lot of different varieties to choose from.

This was a cute and small farmer's market. Nothing unusual but friendly folks with an outside and inside venue. It is probably one of three things you can do if you visit the sad and depressing Davenport, IA. The other two are the Figge Art Museum and the casino.
