Go no more then 30 minutes to close (9pm). We pulled in with barely enough time to spare. The river overlook locked 10 minutes early. The colorful lighting effects were fun and entrancing.

Was once really nice when the casino was there. Now it just smells like pee. Since the casino was removed the area is pretty empty. The bridge closes at a certain time and it smells like pee SO BAD! IT is not maintained anymore probably because it isnt visited as much anymore. I went in the winter months and was very sad to see the state it was in. So many memories growing up and spending time on bridge just to see it become uncared for.

We visited on a Monday mid-afternoon. A worker was cleaning the windows. It was very clean. A good place to view the river. There were several young men loitering in the bridge. Be aware of your surroundings and I suggest going in a group. It lights up at night.

Awesome experience! We enjoyed the bridge and walking around the park. They had live music and food vendors the night we went. I wish we would have known they had a baseball stadium (maybe AAA?) right there so we could have planned our visit around a game.

Enjoyed our visit to the Skybridge late Monday morning. Parked in large lot at end of Brady St toward the river bank - free short term. The Skybridge was very clean as we're the two elevators at the beginning and end of the bridge. Only saw one other visitor during our short visit to take photos and enjoy the view.

Drive under this on River drive and have never found a marked entrance. Would love to see the flood waters from there.

Here's how it works. You ride the elevator up. You walk through the enclosed walkway to the other side and take the elevator down. Or, you walk back to your original starting pointing. Oh, and there is background music played as you walk through this clear tunnel.
This walkway does have an outdoor viewing deck that offers some great views of the hydroelectric plant and you can see the Rock Island Arsenal across the river. Below you is the casino. We went at dusk and it was nice to see the lights reflecting off the river. Great photo opportunity!

This is not really a skybridge. It is about a 2 block long glass-enclosed walkway from a parking ramp to an empty lot. Evidently there used to be a casino riverboat tied up on the river that this walkway was supposed to entice people to use to head for the casino. Now that the casino is gone the walkway seems to be a spot for the homeless to gather.
It is nice that the city air conditions the enclosed space to make the conditions for the homeless more comfortable. Unfortunately there are no restrooms so the result is a significant urine odor. The homeless people did not cause us any issues. I do not know if the police ever patrol this structure.
If you are looking for river views there is a nice walkway about 200 yards east of the structure end.

The skybridge has a nice view of the river and the bridge and to some extent the cities. If you walk down the bridge to the other side, the view is not very good. All you can see is a small courtyard and the buildings surrounding you.
It is is air conditioned in the summer which provides a nice respite from the heat. It would probably be a nice way to get out of the cold winter weather as well.
There are stairs and an elevator.

I have mixed feelings about this attraction. It looks kind of cool but I don’t really get the point. The bridge doesn’t really go anywhere, just over a bust street. The rear of the bridge looks at a paring structure and other buildings. The front of the bridge looks out over the river but the casino right in front of the bridge takes away from the view a little. The view of the river isn’t much better than the view that you can get down the road at Modern Woodman Stadium where you can watch the minor league baseball team (which is a great place to watch a game).
All that being said my kids ages 8 & 6 really liked the bridge and all the lights. We went as the sun was going down so we could really see the lights. My boys also enjoyed counting the plexiglass panels on the floor of the bridge. My boys got more out of this attraction than my wife or I did. I wouldn’t make a trip to the area just to see the bridge but if you are close it’s not a complete waste of time, especially if you have kids.

Can you still rent the skybridge for a quincera?
Written September 2, 2024
Yes you can! The first time I'd visited it was closed down due to a wedding.

What is the best time of day to visit? Does it offer a good view of the sunset?
Written October 15, 2015
Yes, it has a view of a sunset but, the casino at the end of the SkyBridge has a nice park beside it that runs along the Mississippi River. The closer you get to the river, the better the view. Note: the SkyBridge goes North to South or, vice versa. The river through that area, runs East West. The park has a nice entertainment pavilion with live entertainment through the summer months.
Written October 16, 2015
It is just a pedestrian bridge over a busy road. It is free to use to cross from the business side of Davenport, Iowa to the park along the Mississippi River. There are some businesses along the river as well such as Rhythm City Casino and the Single A baseball team for the Houston Astros called The Quad Cities River Bandits.
