Despite being a historian, I only know Germany's political history. This center allowed me to get to know the German culture from the North American immigrant's perspective. The exhibits were well designed and easy to follow. They provided both artifacts and interactive stations. The history timeline is essential for all individuals to understand not only Germany's existence, but key event's... More

Even took some locals with us who had never been and we all enjoyed the time spent. There were multiple floors and a gift shop. Minimum of 1 hour even self guided.

Interesting exhibits and very educational in learning about the history of the Germans in the Quad City area. Fun merchandise in the gift shop including really beautiful Christmas decorations from Germany.

They were featuring a very interesting exhibit on Germans in film making at the time of our visit. The museum has an honest approach to history and proved to be very informative.

I have some German heritage in my blood lines on my Father's side so I watched in earnest as this Center was conceived and put together about 20 years ago. It has turned out to be wonderful venue that offers interesting visual exhibits illustrating the migration of Germans to the Midwest. There is a small video room that shows a... More

We visited and really enjoyed the exhibits and history of settlers in the Quad Cities area. Important artifacts and information made this a great place.

My German ancestors came though IA to SD where I grew up. I don't know if any stopped in the Davenport area, but this museum gave a good view of what they would have gone though regardless. It was well worth the stop.

Great displays - with lots of great information. We unfortunately showed up within 30 minutes of closing so we didn't get to enjoy the whole museum. We did enjoy their special exhibit on Germans in Broadway. Would like to go again and see more - what a nice addition of history to enjoy in the Quad Cities. staff there was... More

Stopped in here as we were doing some ancestry research in the area on our German family. This is a small museum, but very nicely and uniquely done. It was very enjoyable and told a lovely story of how so many German families made their homes in the Davenport area. The gift shop is also lovely.

As a citizen of German descent it was a delight to tour the German American Heritage Center to learn more about the waves of German immigrants who came to the US. My great grandparents came over in the late 1800s and there was quite detailed info about these waves of immigrants. The exhibits were well done and they even had... More
