For a great attraction, it isn't that great but since it is a swinging bridge I upped my overall rating of it. You can access the bridge from either the 4th street or 3rd street side, but there is a better parking area on the 3rd street side, along with a small history of the bridge as well. While the... at the cable supported bridge in Columbus Jct., IA. I am 64 years old and I have been to the bridge many times since I was a young boy. It is historic. Today, I take my grandkids there to see and walk across the swinging bridge. The kids love doing that! I believe the bridge was originally constructed to link... More

There probably aren't many swinging bridges left so if you're passing nearby, stop and walk across it! The local legend of an Indian maiden jumping to her death seems a bit far fetched. And being supposedly haunted is also far fetched. The cool air comes from the ravine the bridge goes over. The temperature is cooler in this area! I... More

This was not on our direct route we were taking on vacation, but the detour was well worth the time and distance. The bridge is very wobbly, so if you are afraid of heights, or you are pretty unsteady on your feet, this might not be the best choice for you. The scenery was very beautiful. Fun place to stop.

Boy once it starts swinging hold on... It was fun to cross, but if you have a fear of heights. Tread at your own risk.... Lol

We stopped because we saw the sign. Just a block from the road and a spectacular view. We crossed and took lots of pics. Made a great memory for our Iowa trip.

We got lost on our way to see this fabulous attraction, but it was well worth the extra effort to find. Not only is the bridge nice in-and-of-itself, it provides a gorgeous view. We were all by ourselves the day we went. What a lovely place in a residential setting.

This bridge is unique and it's worth a quick stop if you happen to be driving through. It's pretty well maintained and a fun place for kids.

Thought we would "swing" by and see this bridge on our way through the area. It WAS worth the stop! Literally just sits between two neighborhoods spanning a huge ravine. I must admit I only made it about 1/4th of the way across before turning back!
