We stopped on a recent roadtrip to Iowa and were pleasantly surprised. This is a smaller venue that is off the beaten path, but boasts a good wine selection, awesome views and very friendly staff.

This was our first venture out from Covid-19 stay-at-home. We have visited here several years ago and some things were different due to Covid restrictions (no tastings). Even with the changes we really enjoyed our visit. The outside deck has a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. The staff was very friendly and service was great. Wide River has some very enjoyable wines.

While a bit of a challenge to get to we had an awesome experience. Originally we were just going to have two glasses of wine but ended up doing the $8 sampler which was 5 samples. We were so impressed with the wine that we walked out with a case. The price point with a discount on a case was definitely worthwhile. Sarah was our tasting room host and she was excellent.

We came to the winery on July 5. The hostess in the tasting room was snotty and rude. We have come before and we’re able to bring our own food. We were told that that was never true. Paying $8 for a tasting of three wines and a glass is highway robbery. This was the first visit for five people in our party of nine. Needless to say, no one was impressed. It will be a long time before we return to this location again.

Hi Mark JSB, Thank you for supporting our small business by visiting our Clinton location. We do our best to produce a delightful and unique local wine experience in a world dominated by big corporations and samey nationwide products. We hope you can understand that we need to generate revenue to pay our 30 some employees who grow grapes, make wine, prepare food and serve you. You can feel good that the proceeds from the two bottles of wine you and friends purchased helped support local people here to serve. We also hope you enjoyed the view from our deck and the peaceful beauty of the woods and Mississippi River. We appreciate our customers and could not do it without them. Sincerely, Martha O'Brien

It was an adventure getting here on rain ravaged, narrow, almost single lane roads but well worth it. We decided on wine samplers. For $8 you receive a wine glass and a choice of 5 wines from a list of red and white wines. There were 9 white and 6 red wines available on the day we visited starting with dry at the top of the list and sweeter at the bottom. The host was friendly and chatted about the various wines and the history of the winery. There was also a Redemption Rose which had been recently bottled which we liked enough to purchase. Our favorite tastes were Felony Red, Smooth Operator, MS D’Meanor White and White Collar Crime. There is a nice outdoor deck with a great view of the widest part of the Mississippi River which must be spectacular during the Fall Season. They also serve appetizers and have live music once a month at this location. They have to other locations offering live music, one in LeClaire and another in the Village of East Davenport. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wines and will return to the winery in the fall to enjoy leaf gazing and a glass of wine.
