    Scenic winery
The views are beautiful from this winery. It's a little tricky getting up there. The dry red wines are very good. The building itself could use a little work. Building is not as nice as the view. We would return again for another tasting.

We arrived here around 12:45 but we drove right by the place because the building is so small and doesn't stand out but for a medium sized sign on the side. The route to get there is rocky and VERY dusty/dirty so beware. The spaces for parking is also limited. We entered, nobody was there, and were first greeted by an annoying stray cat that kept rubbing up against our legs and jumping all around the chairs (gross), and then were greeted by the employee who was friendly. My husband did the $10 wine tasting which included five tastings and a souvenir wine glass, which he thought was a good deal. The worker also put out a small bowl of oyster crackers and gave him a small dark chocolate to pair with one wine. My husband ended up buying his favorite one; a red sangria. The view of the river was just okay outside and it did feel nice in the shade. Around 1:00, 15 minutes after we arrived, more people started coming in. If you want a tour of the vineyard, schedule online in advance.

This winery is a hidden gem. Enjoy the afternoon there with my wife and our wine server Sarah. I don’t usually enjoy sweet lines but they have a tremendous variety. Especially try their rhubarb wine it’s outstanding. Can’t wait to go back again.

I would have loved to give this place 5 stars. It was until the owner brought her dog out and let it not only sniff me but our food. As soon as the woman approached with her dog my husband jumped up and let her know of my allergies. She ignored this and allowed the dog not only to wrap itself around me but to put his nose in our plate of food! Sad thing is I noted some people couldn't even bring their pets into the outside area! Regardless, the vineyard was beautiful and the wines were great. The owners need to clean up their policies so one size fits all.

While Clinton Iowa has seen better days, places like this winery will help rebuild good feelings about this beautiful spot on the mighty Mississip. The wine servers were knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery was magnificent and the wines were very unique...we took three bottles home. The wines have creative legal names.

Loved the wine and the view of the Mississippi River was breathtaking! The complimentary wine tasting of 5 different wines was a treat for sure! You can bring in a sandwich for lunch and purchase a bottle of wine to share with friends on viewing deck! What a beautiful time we had!

Andrea did leave her purse at the winery and I am the one who met her at the oasis on 88 to return it.
Im glad to have been passing thru on the way home.
I just love the little wine shop in LeClaire, IA. It was packed when we stopped in on Sat. afternoon. Happy wine drinkers and 3 very busy gals behind the bar.

This is a superb place to find! A nice surprise awaits you if you are brave enough to dare the snowy hills, you will find a beautifully located winery atop, looking down from inside the winery you will cast upon magnificent wooded crevices where you can just wait to see wondering critters. There is a walking trail to avail in the warmer weather as well. The winery itself is very interesting, run by a district judge and an attorney. The names of the wines make more sense if you know this. We took my mother to this winery on her birthday, and each sampled about 5 wines. Some of my favorties include: Felony Red, Ms. D'Meanor, Guilty Pleasure and Conviction. There is a wine here for all tastes: sweet, semi-sweet, fruit-forward and dry. They also have a port, which I should have tried.
I'd recommend this winery for a nice get-away/excursion picnic style. There are places to sit on a balcony out back (great overlook view) where you can relax, eat and enjoy. I understand that you can also get some of their wines at local Iowa Hyvee's. So, if you aren't sure you want to invest the time, or if you are afraid to go and find you don't like any of them, you can try them out beforehand.

I was visiting a friend in Chicago and wanted to meet up with another friend in Iowa, therefore leading us in the middle to a little place called Clinton, Iowa. I just googled some things to do in the area and found Wide Rivery Winery. The drive was an adventure up these beautiful hills and landscapes and once we arrived, the grounds were beautiful and where you go and taste the wine was in a small house, but decorated with a very country, comfortable, welcoming feel. We were immediately greeted and told about the winery (mostly runned by a family whom work for the justice system) The tasting was free and the wines were incredibly cheap and delicious! I reccomend trying Pursuit of Happiness! After we got out glass of wine, we were told to just take a stroll along the property where they have a beautiful look out of the mississippi river, it was a perfect day.

I was on my way to visit relatives in central Iowa, when I decided to take a different route. I crossed the Mississippi at Clinton and discovered that just a few miles north was an organic winery. While I work for Trader Joes I am interested in things organic, so I stopped. What a treat! The Traders goal is to provide great wines and product at great prices, we constantly have tastings at our stores to provide our customers with knowledge. I was very impressed with the selections, especially the Felony Red. Ann, one of the owners daughters showed me around and gave me a little history behind the concept that the vineyard began as a hobby then morphed into a business. The prices were very resonable and I brought a mixed case to share with co-workers, to rave reviews!Another nice feature is the vinyards close proximity to Galena, Mississippi Eagle watching and many other attractions. Overall a wonderful spot to stop and relax. I will certainly return. Anna M. Healy
