This was our first venture out from Covid-19 stay-at-home. We have visited here several years ago and some things were different due to Covid restrictions (no tastings). Even with the changes we really enjoyed our visit. The outside deck has a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. The staff was very friendly and service was great. Wide River has some very enjoyable wines.

A must see if visiting Clinton area! Make sure you go for the walk along the Mississippi river... You won't be dissappointed! I'd say bring some cheese an chocolate. Go for tasting then buy your favorite bottle and sit out at the end I the trail!

While Clinton Iowa has seen better days, places like this winery will help rebuild good feelings about this beautiful spot on the mighty Mississip. The wine servers were knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery was magnificent and the wines were very unique...we took three bottles home. The wines have creative legal names.

Good day John, thank you for the nice review on our service, wine & view! I hope you will visit again soon as the fall colors promise to be spectacular this year. We also have 2 other locations; Le Claire and Village of East Davenport. Best wishes, Martha O'Brien

Loved the wine and the view of the Mississippi River was breathtaking! The complimentary wine tasting of 5 different wines was a treat for sure! You can bring in a sandwich for lunch and purchase a bottle of wine to share with friends on viewing deck! What a beautiful time we had!

Andrea did leave her purse at the winery and I am the one who met her at the oasis on 88 to return it.
Im glad to have been passing thru on the way home.
I just love the little wine shop in LeClaire, IA. It was packed when we stopped in on Sat. afternoon. Happy wine drinkers and 3 very busy gals behind the bar.

This is a superb place to find! A nice surprise awaits you if you are brave enough to dare the snowy hills, you will find a beautifully located winery atop, looking down from inside the winery you will cast upon magnificent wooded crevices where you can just wait to see wondering critters. There is a walking trail to avail in the warmer weather as well. The winery itself is very interesting, run by a district judge and an attorney. The names of the wines make more sense if you know this. We took my mother to this winery on her birthday, and each sampled about 5 wines. Some of my favorties include: Felony Red, Ms. D'Meanor, Guilty Pleasure and Conviction. There is a wine here for all tastes: sweet, semi-sweet, fruit-forward and dry. They also have a port, which I should have tried.
I'd recommend this winery for a nice get-away/excursion picnic style. There are places to sit on a balcony out back (great overlook view) where you can relax, eat and enjoy. I understand that you can also get some of their wines at local Iowa Hyvee's. So, if you aren't sure you want to invest the time, or if you are afraid to go and find you don't like any of them, you can try them out beforehand.

I was on my way to visit relatives in central Iowa, when I decided to take a different route. I crossed the Mississippi at Clinton and discovered that just a few miles north was an organic winery. While I work for Trader Joes I am interested in things organic, so I stopped. What a treat! The Traders goal is to provide great wines and product at great prices, we constantly have tastings at our stores to provide our customers with knowledge. I was very impressed with the selections, especially the Felony Red. Ann, one of the owners daughters showed me around and gave me a little history behind the concept that the vineyard began as a hobby then morphed into a business. The prices were very resonable and I brought a mixed case to share with co-workers, to rave reviews!Another nice feature is the vinyards close proximity to Galena, Mississippi Eagle watching and many other attractions. Overall a wonderful spot to stop and relax. I will certainly return. Anna M. Healy

We came to the winery on July 5. The hostess in the tasting room was snotty and rude. We have come before and we’re able to bring our own food. We were told that that was never true. Paying $8 for a tasting of three wines and a glass is highway robbery. This was the first visit for five people in our party of nine. Needless to say, no one was impressed. It will be a long time before we return to this location again.

Hi Mark JSB, Thank you for supporting our small business by visiting our Clinton location. We do our best to produce a delightful and unique local wine experience in a world dominated by big corporations and samey nationwide products. We hope you can understand that we need to generate revenue to pay our 30 some employees who grow grapes, make wine, prepare food and serve you. You can feel good that the proceeds from the two bottles of wine you and friends purchased helped support local people here to serve. We also hope you enjoyed the view from our deck and the peaceful beauty of the woods and Mississippi River. We appreciate our customers and could not do it without them. Sincerely, Martha O'Brien

Drove up the crazy dirt road to find a wonderful place. The wine is amazing here plus the staff really knows their wine. Really good stuff had to buy a bottle or 6. One of the best wine tasting so far. Happy dance...
