Very nice exhibit to document Grant Wood's life. The museum claims to have the most Wood's work in the world (say that slowly). However, only a portion is on display due to limited space. Friendly, helpful staff.

lovely blend of old and new architecture and worth a visit if only for that. But has interesting eclectic collection of permanent art and often the temporary shows are really worth it.

Another interesting part of Cedar Rapids history as this building was originally a Carnegie library. Don't overlook this visually accessible, and functional museum of art. It includes a small, well done snapshot of the work of Grant Woods inspiration and life trajectory, in addition to other surprising exhibits.

The building alone is a visual feast! By all means, GO! Of course you will find Grant Wood, but there are also several other fabulous artists! The gift shop is diversified and well stocked with a superbly educated staff! GO!

Not being an art buff I found out so much about Grant Wood and his connection to this area. Although "American Gothic" is not displayed here, you will see numerous Grant Wood works- including jewelry and silver items. Many other local artists are also on exhibit. Really a wonderful museum to visit. Free street parking on the weekends.

This Museum will order fully laid out. Well done and contemporary and spacious. Give your self enough time to take all of the beautiful art on display! Or come back again, and again, they rotate their art. Enjoy!

My husband and I visited this museum thinking it would take about 45 minutes to see what they had. Well, it took much longer. They have an impressive collection of Grant Wood as well as Marvin Cone who also was from there. But what was most impressive was how the works were displayed and the information on the text panels... More

What a great art museum in Cedar Rapids. Grant Wood, Marvin Cone and Mauricio Lasansky are showcased, as they should be, but always something else going on! Great gift shop, too! I go at least once a month to see what is new, and enjoy what is old!

We made a trip for my birthday to see the Grant Wood and Marvin Cone special exhibition and it was very much worth it. The museum is open, well lit, wonderfully displayed. The Wood exhibit gave me information about him I didn't know, and I got to see work of his that isn't immediately thought of when his name is... More

Made a special trip on my way to Dubuque to visit the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art last month. The building and lobby were nice and unusual. The, what I believe is the older area of the museum, by the gift shop, is very nice. The rest of the museum and exhibits were very gratifying. The only area that really... More
