We heard a superb performance of the South Bend Symphony at the Morris PAC. The acoustics are wonderful and the symphony and conductor are outstanding. Also the center is beautifully restored. We recommend this experience to everyone!

Thank you for commenting on your experience! The Morris opened in 1922 and was built to project sound as back then there were not the speakers systems that are used today.

We have season tickets to the South Bend Theater League shows. The renovated seats are more comfortable and the addition of cup holders is wonderful. Looking forward to further renovations. Consistently ranked as one of the best venues for its size and offerings.

Midwest gem, renovated theatre that gets great shows and great revues. South Bend, though only a city of 100,000, has the reputation of a much larger city. With a Symphony, a Theatre League for broadway shows, and great booking for comedians, musicians, and bands, experience an old style theatre experience. Put on some nice clothes, have a great meal at one of our many downtown restaurants, and see a show -- an experience.

Great theatre with restaurants and bars around- makes the experience even better. Parking is convenient close by. Went to see improv show. Do try and get close to stage. Webpage works very well.

This theater is a beautiful example of what a the "theater" was long ago. From the gorgeous, lofty foyer to the gilt and velvet auditorium, it's first class all around. Well worth a visit.

The Morris is a nearly 100-year-old magnificently restored showplace, Once home to vaudeville acts and then movies, the theater now hosts Broadway productions, concerts, comedy acts, etc. The ornate interior is absolutely splendid and acoustics are very good. When you visit, you really get two shows for the price of one--it's entertaining just looking around at the gorgeous interior.

This is a beautiful theatre but I don't agree with the some of the previous reviews about the seating all being great and as typical of older venues, the ladies restroom on the main floor is small ( 8 stalls) for the amount of patrons this theatre holds. The acoustics were good and what I got to see of the play, it was really good. The seats do not have enough of a downward slant (stadium style) for you to see over someone too tall so I spent $74.00 to see the back of someone's head and I didn't find them very comfortable. I would attend this theatre again but next time, we will try the balcony instead of the main floor.

Thank you for our review. As you stated, restrooms are located on the main floor (near the Box Office.) Restrooms are also located on the second floor of the Grand Lobby and the newest restroom in the lower level updated in 2011 now has 11 stalls.

This is a beautiful venue but the add on's increase a ticket by about $20. There is the "convenience fee" and the "historical preservation fee" and if you order on line there is another fee. Add these to an already high price of a ticket depending on the performance you want to see and it really adds up!
There is really no bad seat. Even the 3rd balcony has a great view of the stage, but bring your opera glasses for a closer look. The acoustics are great and there is no trouble hearing wherever you sit.
The restoration of this beautiful building is something to see.

Thank you for your comments. The Morris is a rental facility which promoters rent to present their show. The promoter sets the cost of the base ticket price for their show. The Box Office is a service to promoters to assist in selling tickets for their shows and this money is transferred to the promoter. The Internet Convenience Fee covers the extra cost of the ticket web site, mailing tickets, etc. Customers have the option to purchase tickets directly at the Morris Box Office Mon-Fri 12pm-5pm to avoid this fee. The Capital Improvement Fund Fee was established to pay major maintenance such as roof repair and upgrades of the theater. The Morris is owned by the City of South Bend and regular daily maintenance is handled by an operating budget granted through the City of South Bend Common Council. Capital improvements are paid by people who attend events at the Morris.
