The pretzels and espresso drinks are something we always eat/drink at. Just a nice collection of stores that carry products I like.Visited July 2023Written July 19, 2023

It’s just hanging out and getting ready for a fine meal. We haven’t decided on blue gate or Essenhaus going over to fair Oaks Farm tomorrow.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 8, 2023

This 4 level shopping experience actually is nice. The whole place is very well kept and neat and clean. It has almost any kind of kitsch, knick knack or souvenir you want. It also has a couple stand out places, like the outdoor gear store on the basement level. And a surprisingly good coffee shop on the main level. They have a great selection and are willing to make you almost anything you can think of. And, of course, when visiting a new place, its always nice to know where the nice clan bathrooms are, as well!

Had 11 members of my family, walking around Shipshewana and decided to go into Davis Mercantile. Can't say how much fun we all had. From the front door you see a tall tree that goes up all 3 levels an exits a hole in the room. The music shop can hold its own and more to most places I have seen. There was a very talented woman playing the delcemer. The kids were so excite by the many easily affordable things for kids. The music selection of cd's was wonderful. But onward into the numerous stores. Some retro, some clothing, some candy stores, and primate stores that look fresh from log cabin's. Oh and don't let me forget the toy store...and on the top level was a large carousel for the kids. $5.00 for 3 kids for a comfortably long ride. A wonderful must see and shop when visiting Amish country....more updates soon

We usually spend time in the music store Simple Sounds and did so again this year. Good building to go to with family as the top floor has a merry-go-round, pretzel place to snack and restrooms.

I’ll admit I’m not much of a shopper so this was not much fun for me. Nothing original in here, just expensive boutique shops. I will admit that the puzzle store was impressive. I’ll look for shopping In The future with more authentic Amish made items.

Our destination was Lolly's Fabrics, which did not disappoint. There was a large selection of fabrics and great quilt projects on display, which led us to purchase a number of patterns. Of course, on our way to find the restroom, we found a music shop with unique musical gifts to be purchased.

I am very disappointed that there are NO local vendors in this place, its full of over priced, "Brighton" type things. The clothes are even over priced. I wish they had local fares here and supported the community more than items from China. If I wanted to shop for high end items I could have done that at home. I think they would do better business having things that were made local. Just MY opinion.

I love the Mercantile shops! We always have to stop and get candy. I did not see that anyone has mentioned that the carousel horses were all hand carved by one local youth, all but two by the same person I believe. It's amazing to see no matter what, but once you know that it makes it that much more special. We go to Shipshewana once or twice a year, and this is a must-stop.

What is The Lang Store. What kind of merchandise and where located.

The Lang store is one of the reasons that I make sure to make the trip to Shipshewana at least once a year. I love Lang Christmas cards! They also have great coffee mugs and wall calendars. The look of Lang can't really be compared to anything else I know of. High quality, amazing graphics.

Everything in Shipshewana is closed on Sunday the Amish are very religious. Except for the Blue gate, everything pretty much closes at 5pm. The Mercantile opens at 10 and closes at 5pm
