I spend lots of time here. I enjoy hiking, fishing, just driving or observing animals in the Nature Center. The viewing room in the Nature Center provides a glimpse through the glass of raccoons, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs & even deer. The park is small...More

Decided to take a look at this huge (roughly 8,000 acre) wildlife refuse just outside Seymour. It is interesting that about 60% of the acreage is reclaimed farm land that is slowly returning to its natural state. There is a mix of forest, grassland, lakes,...More

Nice place to stop and take in some local wildlife. Lots of information, large number of walking trails. The refuge allows hunting during certain seasons as well. You can see different wildlife depending on when you visit.

We've been visiting this refuge for at least 30 years, and it keeps getting more beautiful. A highlight on our most recent trip was hundreds of Indigo Buntings. Other birds that we don't see in the city included White-Crowned Sparrows, Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks, and Roufous-Sided Towhees....More
