    Great affordable stop
The employees were ridiculously friendly and fast. The frozen hot chocolate was super delicious and the candy was very reasonably priced. Also had very affordable shirts and books. Cute place with unique candy.

    Candy Heaven
This was a short trip passing through Santa IN but what a neat experience. Walking into a building filled with candy and nostalgia. From a huge collection of pez dispensers and all kinds of old school candies took me on a walk down memory lane. But it had all the new fun stuff too. The owner was able to give me lots of history and even explained why he didn’t have my favorite “BB Bats”. I’d say this place is worth the visit. You can tell the owner has a true passion for the business and history of the town. Due to covid some of the usual activities and seating are currently unavailable.

Get your sweet tooth fix here
This has got to be one of my favorite places in Santa Claus. All the hard to find, nostalgic, candy you can think of mixed with novelty and favorites of today with homemade varieties of fudge and popcorn. However, the real gem is the Frozen Hot Chocolate. Its creamy, frothy, sweet and has a real cocoa taste. Definitely not a fake mix. This is a great place and a must go to when visiting Santa Claus, In.

You walk into a hallway that has tons of Pez dispensers. However, being the entry wy and small area it felt like you could not stop and look. Actually, it felt that way all the way through. There are little walkways and the few times I bent down to look at items I was blocking the way for people to walk by. There are a few old-time type candy, but honestly, it just seemed like overpriced items you can find at almost any store that has candy. We did not try their famous frozen coco as it was very cold the day we went and honestly would have like hot cocoa instead. We were asked if we wanted any drinks but didn't see a menu or prices handy so we said no. The best thing we walked away with was a super small bag of taffy for just under $10. Not ever worth a stop, could be so much better! When we went they were only open SAturday and Sunday, as most of the town is.

Thank you for visiting Santa’s Candy Castle and for taking the time to write a review. We strive to give each and every guest to the historic castle a wonderful experience every time they visit. We are genuinely sorry that you did not enjoy your visit. Based on your other recent negative reviews it seems that you might possibly just have been having a bad week perhaps. We hope that you might come back & visit us again sometime. If there is anything that you don’t see, or have a question about, we’d love to personally help you and make sure you have a better experience next time. For others who might be reading this review, we would like to clarify a few points: The “hallway” entrance that was too small is actually a 10’x14’ room where one family at a time enters before moving ahead into the rest of the castle. Most of our guests really enjoy browsing this room which hosts one of the largest retail PEZ selections in the country. The “overpriced items you can find at almost any store that has candy” is not how most guests feel about our offerings. As a small business, it is true that we might not be able to offer prices as low as some of the huge big box stores, but the vast majority of our guests feel that our prices are fair on the hundreds of nostalgic and unique candy items we offer, most of which are very hard to find. A quick glance at other guest reviews should confirm this. Our staff works very hard to make sure that we personally greet and interact with every guest at least once, but often multiple times every visit, to see if we can help in any way. When we ask guests if they would like any drinks, it is when the guest is standing directly in front of a menu of our drink options that has prices clearly listed. In addition to our Frozen Hot Chocolate, we do offer 35 flavors of gourmet hot chocolate. The clearly listed price of $2.50 for a cup of gourmet hot chocolate has been the same for over 10 years. The “super small bag of taffy for just under $10” is actually a half pound bag of salt water taffy for $3.99. We are not sure how there was any confusion about this - we offer one size bag of taffy, and the price has been the same for over 10 years. Our staff works really hard try to give everyone a great experience. It genuinely pains us when we aren’t able to hit the mark each and every time. We encourage our guests to let any of our staff members know if we can help in any way or do anything to improve their visit. If there is a question, a problem or if anything doesn’t meet a guest’s expectations, we hope that they will let us know BEFORE they leave. We promise to do everything we possibly can address any questions or issues and provide a great experience.

Pre-Covid this was probably was a magical place. Currently, it looks really cool on the front but inside, despite having a good selection of interesting candy, it is just a quick walk through store with a long line to check out. It was worth the stop if only to get an nice photo of the front of the building. I wouldn't mind coming back in the future if they would bring back some of what was described on their website that they currently have closed...

I used to visit the candy castle at least twice a year during my travels through the area. Now I have moved to Owensboro KY and am so much closer and have visited quite a few times during 2019, bringing visiting family from CA and KS with me. Kevin is a great host and the staff are always welcoming and helpful. I was a little disappointed that the Santa Claus Hall of Fame was not displayed but Kevin explained why and I am looking forward to the rededication of it this year. This is a must visit when in the area, especially for the children.

There is so much unique candy to choose from. Candy that you usually don't see in the grocery stores. We initially went for the candy but once we tasted the Frozen Hot Chocolate we had to come back (twice) for more.... It is delicious.

Such a cool place. We stopped in after a trip from Holiday World, and it was our first time coming here. I was amazed! There’s SO many options I had never seen before. And what made our experience even greater was the kind people behind the counter. So informative and welcoming. And I 100% recommend the frozen hot chocolate OMG it was amazing!!!!Thank you to the staff for being so awesome. We will definitely be return customers after this!!

Loved Santa’s Candy Castle! The frozen hot fudge was so good we returned the next day for another (and of course more candy). The employees were top notch and super friendly and the customer service I received from the owner was amazing.
On our return visit we were waited on by the owner. We mentioned that we were there the day before and he asked how we liked what we bought. My daughter and granddaughter raved about the chocolate covered cookie dough. Myself, I said that I would have preferred just the cookie dough. He insisted that I pick out something else from the case. I told him “No, my daughter and granddaughter were loving the candy” but he was persistent. He said pre-Covid, when the plastic shields weren’t in place, he would have given samples.
Definitely make this a stop when you are in the area!

Based on web site, it almost seemed like it was big and had some sort of interactive experience. I was in and out in 5 mins. They had some old school candy, which was kind of cool, but wasn't impressed overall. No one spoke to me at entry or exit either. The building is cute though.

As implied in the name, expect a bunch of candy varities. Anything around here is going to be over priced, it's a vaction hot spot, expect as such. Staff was great and family had a good time. Will go again, have stopped by solo as well for a few treats when passing through.

So glad we stopped here! Not only do they have a ton of different candy, their frozen hot chocolate was amazing. They were so informative about the area. Gave us a list of special places to visit. We had no idea how much there was to do. Also told us the story about when Man Vs Food filmed there. Truly amazing people. So nice, and we very much appreciated it!!

Incredibly disappointed. Drove out of our way to check it out and they were closed. It was mid-day on a Saturday. Checked the website when we arrived and it stated 10-5 (up until 12/31 was the last date listed). Best to keep the website up to date. Our daughter was really upset.

We are very sorry for your experience. In the future, please consider using google to check a business' hours BEFORE you drive out of your way to visit them. Then you won't have to disappoint your daughter or hurt small family businesses by giving them unwarranted 1 star reviews. #ClarkGriswold #MooseOutFront
