It probably would have seemed more impressive if we hadn't just toured the Immaculate Conception Monastery. However, it still was worth the stop and the quick self-guided tour of the Chapel and Chamber Room.

Beautiful and peaceful place. The Archabbey is one of only two in the United States. Take a self guided tour of The Archabbey Church, courtyards, library and the Chapter Room. Try to be there for one of the 5 prayer times with the monks, all...More

Stunning. Picturesque grounds and architecture. We parked and visited the welcome center, where the monk-guided tour (free) begins. Moderate walk, indoor and outdoor including stairs, mild hills, and garden viewing. The welcome center is open for guests, with complimentary flavored water Station, as well as...More

Took the self guided tour. Pamphlet for walking tour was very descriptive and helpful. Also picked up a map with stops lettered. Would definitely recommend grabbing one. The campus is so very beautiful and peaceful. Loved the open door (literally) policy. The simplicity of the...More

It's not easy to reach St. Meinrad but well worth the effort. The archabbey is only one of seven in the world and from the outside is an architectural marvel. The interior doesn't match the exterior as it was renovated in the late 1990s. No...More

In my two visits to Saint Meinrad Archabbey, I was struck by the tranquility of the place. For those looking for a place that seems almost removed from the world, a place to clear your mind and to re-center, the church and grounds at Saint...More

Was here on retreat with my husband. You feel the holiness of the Hill when you round the corner and see the spires rousing above the town. Saint Meinrad always feels like home. So glad to have another reason to be here.
