With all the hype, who could resist? Kind of a round about way up to this town coming from Split, but we made it. Park outside, pay your 15 Kuna, and pass through the old stone arch entry. I’m surprised there was so much activity - at least three gift shops, a couple restaurants, three or so places to stay, and a tasting room. Wait, that’s more than 28 right? Super cute town is definitely worth a visit, just wander about for an hour or so. The road out was way better than the road in.

Hum is supposed to be the smallest town in the world. It is a charming old stone-built little town with cobbled streets and cute little shops offering local local delicacies such as truffles, olive oil, wine, etc. It also offers stunning view you can enjoy peacefully from wooden benches kindly placed at the southern end of the town.

There are also few accomodation possibilities so you can use it as a grate base to visit also other Istrian villages nearby (Mototvun, Buzet, Groznjan..).

The hiking trail takes you by the river Mirna all the way to Buzet (12 km alltogether) passing also the charming Kotle village and offers a few bathing possibilities.

Very with visiting and spending a couple of days!

The road leading up to this village has been improved but is still narrow and demands alertness. There is a nice parking area and from there, visitors can enter the town. Check out the images on the gate which are a type of agricultural zodiac. The town is a little run down which is part of its charm. It has a wonderful restaurant and a unique museum depicting bygone life in the area. I was told not to miss the bathroom. There are a few shops, especially the Aura distillery which produces excellent brandy. My favorite was Cornalian Cherry. Oh, I wish they sold it in the states! This is a pleasant "off-the-beaten-path" attraction which gives a glimpse of Istria beyond the towns.

Do you need a good reason to visit what is claimed to be the 'smallest town in the world'?! This place just charmed the socks off us, we loved it here. Its tiny (of course) but has a unique charm, as you enter through the imposing gated entrance you feel like you are being transported back in time. It doesn't feel like much has changed here for centuries.
The road up is an interesting one and you just need to keep reminding yourself its going to be worth it as you drive up, the back route we took was a bit hair raising in parts!

Nice little town with a parking outside which costs 1,5 euro. It is quite small and has a small nice church which was open and some more stone building, looks a bit deserted and some apartments for rent and a shop or two. Not that far from the coast so easy to reach.

Hum is the smallest town in world. It has a interesting history and it's worth visiting. The people are kind and relaxed. The view from the top is magnificant. The ancient buildings are beautiful.Try their local products (and a alcoholic drink called Biska) they sell in shops. Explore the little streets in the town.
If you go with a car, you have to park it outside the walls on a big parking lot and the fee is about 10 or 15 kunas (1,5 - 2 €)

Trekked into Hum and what a cool place. Beautiful views, interesting back story, nice restaurant and some nice places to wander to after a hearty lunch. Easily accessible if driving. Get here early before the crowds arrive. If you're in Istria, definitely visit Hum!

Cute tiny village, a must-see if you are in that part of Istria. We visited just after 5pm and it was quiet and free parking.

We were told about this little "town" by one of the nice waiters at the restaurant in hotel Villa Kapetanovic. According to Google , it is occupied by 25 people... the drive to the place was nice. Arriving we found the parking pretty full, buses and many motorcycles with noisy riders. Parking our car and paid the required fee to a lovely man who told us that there are 27 people living there inclusing 2 kids. After they left it was quiet, pleasant but very windy. Walking around was nice, relaxed place. Clean and lovely plants. Quick coffee and a visit to the graveyard with some interesting names and dates concluded our visit.
