There's not much in Palmyra. But Buffalo Trace Park is worth a visit, especially in warm weather months. It's a good location for camping. It's worth the trip for out-of-towners. It's peaceful and quiet but still close enough to visit places like Corydon and Louisville. The fishing is nice. We enjoy catching bass and catfish. There are grills and tables available if you want to feast on your catch right away or just have a picnic in the park. There is a family swimming area, a play area and a petting zoo to keep the kids entertained. There are areas for sports including a softball field. You can get your exercise walking the path around Coleman Lake and taking a rest stop in the gazebo. The fall colors are spectacular. So keep a camera handy anytime you visit. We've been here many times. And we'll keep coming back.

Great camp spot, even a couple cabins brand new smell still that if you don't want to rough it and don't have a rv or camper should check into renting. Swimming, fishing canoes and paddle boats are just a few key attractions along with one of the areas top disc golf courses as the cherry on top.
You choose to visit I'd bet you will return.

I you live in southern IN and want a nice place to spend time with your family/friends this is a good place to go. It is south of Palmyra on HWY 150. There is a fee to get in for non-Morgan township dwellers. Once inside, there is a 1.3 mile paved path. There are several shelters you can rent for get-togethers. I love walking there!

This campground is very clean. Some of the campsites are pretty cramped. The lake is very nice and clean. Lots of people come her to fish and seem to do well. The petting zoo is not big, but still a nice feature. Veterans and active military get free entrance to the park!

We decided to go tent camping. Really lucked out with beautiful weather. The grounds are well kept. At no fault of their own issues with the shower room (used feminine products on the shower floor multiple times) i don’t know if checking the bathrooms and showers frequently would help, common sense would say go to the bathroom first but this person chose not to... if you want lots of wild life you’ll get it. We were visited by several creatures squirrels (chewed a hole in our tent), raccoon, skunk, ducks and lots of geese. We went to several places throughout the week swimming and the beach was the most unpleasant there was so much goose poop in the sand and the water left a green film on my skin and turned my baby blue swim suit brownish green.

We have come to this park may times over the years, and always loved it! It's clean and well-maintained, and there is plenty to do- camping, fishing, swimming, paddle boating, petting zoo, and if course, picnicking. Rates are very reasonable, and the people that work there are great.
