This is such a small town you would not expect to find so many items in a museum here. Since it is the hometown of former Indiana Governor Edgar Whitcomb, there have been more donations than usual for this type of place. His family owned the building where the museum is housed and some dedicated people keep it going nicely. Since it is a volunteer operation, the hours are very limited Summer hours are Sundays 1:00-4:00 and Wednesday evenings. I believe in the winter they are open on Monday rather than Sundays but double check their website for opening times before you come. If your family has any connection to this area, you will probably find something about them here. Great for the genealogy fans out there. If you like history, give this place a look in.…

While it would be nice to give an accurate review, I cannot due to the limited hours this place is open. Attempted to visit on a Saturday at 1pm but it was closed. Hours of operation: Monday and Wednesday in the evening. Looks like not many people would be able to visit with hours like that. Hence the one review before mine. Why share history with the public if you dont keep regular visiting hours. …

This is actually a 3 building museum. The main museum is housed in an old chicken coop on the property of a former Indiana Governor's family's property. This houses the usual county paraphernalia - including a mock up 1960's family living room - lot's of neat stuff inside. The second building is an old gas station that has been refurbished - another cool little stop. The final building is the WOW (although they're all nice visits...) - a local guy was looking for a place to store his entire (almost complete) LIFE magazine collection as well as his musical playing machines, old records and a bunch of absolutely cool mix of stuff that is well worth the trip! SO... they put it all here! Go see this museum - off the beaten path, but a must see if you are ever in the area!…
