This temple is one of the pancharama (one of the five) astonishing temples located in different parts of our country. The temple is best for its external beauty in its tall gopuram and also it's interior where the design of the sivalinga is really admirable. The exclusive architecture of the temple and it's historical importance makes it one of the best ones to visit in a lifetime.

draksharamam one of the five pancharama kshetras is near kakinada, so start from kakinada go to draksharamam . start early by 6 am and complete darshan and abhishekam here take a priest who would be a guide also and explain the whole place ( bargain and fix a price ). darshan would hardly take half an hour .have breakfast and then proceed to samarlakota which would take an hour journey and here also darshan would take hardly half an hour .always take the special darshan ticket which doesnt cost much to have a better darshan .from here proceed to pithapuram about 45 min journey which is a shaktipeetham and than reach kakinada and have lunch preferably at subbaya hotel any one in kakinada will tell the address as it is very popular and costs 150 in ac worththe money.complete the above temples before 12noon as they reopen only at 4.3opm. If u have the patience than take rest for one hour at kakinada and than proceed to pallakolu and than to bhimavaram so as to complete four of the five pancharama places. above two places are near to each other about 25 kms apart and are 2.5 hours journey from kakinada. only amaravati which is near vijaywada is the other pancharama kshetra.

This temple is one of the ancient temples of shiva in south india and one of pancharama kshetras. Lord shivas wife Mukambika devi idol is present. Besides the Main Linga is silver colour or ice (Barf ) colour here (like spatikalingam ). The Dwajasthambam is pretty high. There is also oldest Ravi tree which many couples pray to lord subramanyeswara ( in 2 snakes coiled form ) to have children. Besides the most important suggestion from me to devotees is to visit the Kalabhairava idol as he's the kshetrapalaka (Keeper/ protector ) of this wondeful ancient shaivate temple on the east coast of Andhra Pradesh. Prasadam is Laddus and Pulihora (tamarind rice ). Mondays would see huge rush and also on dussehra i reckon.

An ancient temple where you will find both Shakthi & Shiva.25km from the Kakinada town can visit by only your own conveyance. You will find ancient temple with a artistic hand and typically planned temple of ancient time. Can take a priest who will give you all information about the temple. As it's a Shaktipitha better to avoid during Dusshera time to avoid lots of crowd.A big Shivalinga will make you really happy but be aware while going to see it from top as the stairs are very big and height is less which will hit your head on the roof.Let's all get the bless.

Draksharama Bheemeswara is one of the famous Pancharama kshetras ,and here Lord Surya installed Shiva Lingam. This temple is located in Draksharamam in East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. This temple is 28 kms from Kakinada and sixty kms from Rajahmundry. The nearest town is Ramachandra Puram , just 6 kms located on the route between Rajahmundry and Yanam. Daksha, father of Sati, performed a sacrifice here and hence this place is called “Daksharama” which was later changed to “Draksharama”. This temple is surrounded by two prakaras. Just beside the front of the temple pond called “Sapta Godavari” which was formed when the seven sages did abhishkam to Lord Shiva with the holy waters of Godavari brought by Sage Bharadwaja. This pond is considered very holy and the devotees take a holy dip before entering the temple. At the entrance on either side, one can see the idols of Dundi Ganapati and Thandava Ganapati . At the entrance one can also see the idols of Lakshmi Narayana, who is the Kshetrapalaka or guardian of this temple. In the surrounding mandapam one can see the idols of Brahma, Kala Bhairava,Sapta Matrikas, Visweswara Lingam, Annapurna and Kanaka Durga. All these idols are installed in tiny temples seen around the Mandapam corridor. The main presiding deity, Bheemeswara is a nine foot-high white Shiva Lingam installed by Lord Surya and worshipped by the seven holy Rishis. The top of this deity is seen on the first storey after climbing steps from either side. People worship the Lord on the first floor. Beside him is seen the idol of Parvati. At the bottom of Shiva Linga on the ground floor, the idol of Manikyamba, is seen on the backside left corner. This is a shakti Peetham where the left cheek of Sati fell when Vishnu cut off the body of Sati with his Sudarhanachakra. This temple was constructed by the eastern Chalukya king, Bhima between 892 and 902 A.D. Hence the lord is called Bheemeswara. This temple with a spacious lawn on the front is now looked after by the Archaeological Survey of India.
