Great views
Jan 2021 • Couples
Slightly hard to find but good walk up the mountain on the access road. Steady mid range climb - about 3km up and then same return. Views right out to the Alps - we could pick out Buffalo and Buller (amongst others). Basically 360 degree views.

Open & dry with little tree cover so take the sunscreen, water & a hat!

Unfortunately no dogs allowed
May 2020 • Family
Searched long and hard and couldn't find any information online about if dogs are allowed. Drove all the way there only to discover they're not. Disappointing. But looks beautiful so we'll have to come back another time without the dog.

Such a great place

Shepparton/benalla/surrounding areas - please do yourself a favour and do this hike at least once (trust me you'll do it again after the first time). This is the sort of thing that makes our area at least bearable. We did during winter - sun was at least shining. took us an hour, with numerous stops for taking photos. My instagram looks fab with all the photos of the view. Will definately be going back. Also - do the hike in the morning/early afternoon, go to tallis winery afterward. Perfect super fun activity for the weekend. Or weekday if you are lucky enough to have that option.

Love this place!

Amazing place for relaxing and breath the fresh air.

It takes about 20mins walk to get to the top. A few bench chairs for you to enjoy the view and relax.

Great place for a hike or ride a bike. Once on top a great view can be seen. Mt buffalo can be seen and the start of the great dividing range.

Call that a mountain?
Nov 2014
I believe that a mountain, by definition, should be over 600 metres.

Mount Major is quite a pretty hill, and a nice walk.
