Wonderful view - so relaxing
Mar 2021
We came here after doing the nearby trail of silo art. We did that in the morning and then came here for lunch.

We did a tasting of the white wines which were all very good.

We then ordered a platter and sat out enjoying the view and nibbling on our platter and sipping our drinks.

It was a wonderfully restful experience.

The quirky art in the paddock was a nice touch.

Relaxing lunch
Dec 2020 • Couples
Enjoyed a platter and bruschetta meal with friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Walked the hill next door for the panoramic view. Drank a sparkling viognier and lovely rose. Food and wine very nice with great staff and service. Eating outside with plenty of room and covid safe. Plenty of parking and great cellar door.

Panoramic view, great wine/food & excellent knowledge of wine
Mar 2020
As Molly Meldrum used to say “do yourself a favour”! Tallis Winery is a very worthwhile visit and the pick of the wines for me were the Riesling, Viognier & the Sangiovese (my fav). The cellar door manager Mel took us through the extensive tasting and her knowledge was excellent. The food was very nice and if you like anchovies they are a must have. We will definitely be back soon. Ps It is a good idea if you are thinking of eating there as it was packed

Lovely nibbles and wine
Dec 2019
Just spent a really relaxing couple of hours brunching here with a friend before purchasing some bottles of wine for another friend for Christmas. We ordered the regional platter and we nibbled away at some local cheeses, artisan bread and pita, fresh fruit, chutneys, pickles and relishes while we chatted and looked out over the rolling hills. It was a light and tasty meal and they were able to accommodate us although we hadn't booked. We both had a really enjoyable experience here. The service was very friendly and accommodating as well - highly recommended.

An excellent wine tasting experience
Sep 2019 • Couples
We dropped into Tallis for wine tasting prior to lunch at Dookie. The tasting room is excellent with amazing views over the countryside. We tasted all the wines with the assistance of Sam Tallis - he did a great job of explaining the wines and chatting about the region. The wines are very good value for money - we particularly liked the Viognier, the Cab Sav and the Shiraz Viognier blend. Afterwards we walked the trail to the top of the nearby hill with even better views of the region. The cellar door was very busy at lunchtime - you can order platters of cold food to go with the wine tasting.

Better than expected
Sep 2019
Decided to drive out here for lunch after seeing the cheese platter online. The service, the views, the wine, the platter, the coffee and the to die for cheesecake was super amazing and more than we expected. A very relaxing afternoon. Will definitely come back here.

A beautiful gem
Aug 2019
We spent yesterday in the area, primarily to see the gorgeous canola fields. When we were investigating the fields locations, we read about Tallis & decided it was definitely the place for lunch. What a beautiful place - stunning views, including canola but far beyond, we could even see a snow-topped mountain. The ambience in the cellar door is instantly welcoming & light & airy. Friendly staff, a very adequate menu & lovely wines on offer. We just had to have the regional platter. As there were 3 of us & it claimed to be for 2, we asked for it to be topped up a bit which was no trouble. A gorgeous platter with cheeses, beautiful warm bread, various condiments, meat & olives. So delicious. And we shared a bottle of the sparkling viognier. Our time at Tallis was a highlight of our visit to the area, well worth it!

Wonderful

We have been meaning to visit Tallis for quite a while... we should have come years ago. Tallis’ food, service and ambience is beyond compare. A beautiful location to eat a casual, unpretentious lunch. Glorious ham hock soup, 6 for $6 sausage rolls and delicious apple cake were delivered by extremely efficient and friendly Mieka. Soft background music, great red wine and beautiful views meld into an unforgettable experience. Tallis is good for the soul. Thank you so much.

Hidden Gem
Apr 2019 • Couples
A visit to the Tallis Cellar door is a must if you are in the area. Its situated in the rolling Dookie Hills and provides a beautiful outlook of the country side. The wine is top class and they offer tasting or you can buy it by the bottle or glass. They offer multiple platter options for food, I would recommend the regional platter to share between two as it was delicious. The staff are attentive and very knowledgeable about the wine and food on offer. Overall it was a most enjoyable experience. I would recommend booking a table as it is busy especially on weekends.
