A great walk up to the top, seeing birds as you go. Lots of information to read on the way up about the memorial walk. Quite steep and can be slippery if it has been raining.

Tough but interesting trek. We were able to learn lots about the memorial from the many placards and monuments erected at the trail head and throughout!

The Kokoda memorial 1000 steps is a really good idea. The storys of the solder at one tree hill were particularly touching. It is a challenging walk, quite steep and slippery. But the main issue is that there are a lot of people on the...More

We stopped and took in all the information and was very impressed with the level of detail. The memorial is very tastefully done.

Make sure you are dressed for exercise and wear good shoes. The two walks worth doing are not easy, and the steps are uneven in places. To do the two main walks you need at least 2 hours unless you're super fit, as it's about...More

We used to do this walk years and years ago and then we moved away ! In that time it’s become very popular and there are times it almost needs traffic nights ! Not for the faint hearted but a great workout

Ill be honest I expected there to be a littlw something more at the top. If your after somewhere to go to raise your heart rate, this is the place. But theres not much beyond a good place to exercise and some nice memorial pieces...More

The steps are quite strenuous. This is a popular walk and can get busy on weekends and holiday time. You might see native wildlife along the way.

Informative display, a worthwhile effort to climb the "1000" steps (I think it's about 700 or so). The steps are a little rough in places, so you need a reasonable level of fitness. But the display is at the bottom / start of the trail,...More
