Great place to tick of bucket list of things in Victoria to see ! The drive over was beautiful and cactus country did not disappoint either. Set out on 12 acres complete with walking track , cafe and cactus sales, cactus country was easier to get around including for people with mobility issues like my mum who requires crutches to get around who had no trouble see the different tracks. The kids aged 5, 10 and 13 enjoyed the game / challenge of finding different things on a game sheet provided and picking out a plant to buy at the end of the trip which was completed by cactus cake ( YUM). Definitely recommend if you enjoy meandering through garden setting and love cactus and succulents ! My only thought for improvement would be to have a bit more information along the trails such as variety information for those who love little interesting facts to read about. Over all we loved it and enjoyed our day out

Thanks so much for visiting, i'm so glad that you and the family enjoyed your visit. Always looking for ways to improve the gardens, so we will definitely look into how we can display some extra info in the gardens :)

My hubby and I went for a visit but didn’t foresee that it’s going to rain on the day. Despite that, we still enjoyed everything there, from the variety of indoor and outdoor cactus plants, to the sumptuous food in their restaurant, and to the friendly staff there. The rain didn’t stop us from enjoying the place and we’ll definitely come back (when we have another same day off again).

it was good generally, especially if you simply want something different. But when I went there, it's a bit of wrong and good timing at the same time: good because it's flowring season, so you got more colour splash into the scenery, wrong because it was just a couple days after a very bad wheather. I believe it's the main reasons why some of the cactus fell and the fact that it was raining on the day I went there made the walking trail a bit muddy. there's barely any place to defend yourself from the rain once you're in the middle of the trail so that's my biggest negative point. other than that, it's just small stuff that not necessarily big enough to be complained about and I generally enjoyed my time and my cactus cuisines. you love cactus and succulents? give this place a shot!

Firstly, the owners were very accommodating as we could not visit on the date we had initially booked for online. I phone and they were happy to hold the booking until we made the trip over from Albury.
We arrived with our dog, and were greeted by the friendly staff and their own dog, Oreo (gorgeous thing). We followed the directions on the map provided, very easy to follow the colour coded trails through the gardens.

After the walk, we had some cactus cake at the cafe - beautiful!

It looks and feels like another world. It’s a beautiful experience.

Make sure you take a hat, sunscreen and some water on your trip.

The range of cacti was extensive and impressive and and well worth seeing. although it was not quite the same as walking the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. The entry price was far too high even though it is a place where you can purchase various succulents which also are not low cost. The other negative was the lack of signs describing the cacti. Overall good, could have been better and pricing is too high for that but purchase plants.

Thanks so much for your feedback, unfortunately due to covid we can't hand out our guidebooks so we have put it online. This allows people to read about the plants as they wonder the different regions. Hopefully you'll come back in the future, we have lots of expansions and improvements underway :)

Really unique and fun day out. The cactus are amazing in real life. We visited during the flowering season which made for some special photographs. The nachos (especially the beef) was surprisingly delicious. They also had a huge selection of cactus plants for sale, much better than what we could get in the city. We spent about 4 hours there.

This cactus garden in rural Aus is remarkable. A gardeners and artists delight! To have such passion and commitment is admirable, it takes years to create such an amazing space, towering cacti and the Spanish style Cantina is unique. Lovely nachos and friendly staff.

We visited Cactus Country in the early stages of Victoria re-opening after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the state.
There were maybe six different groups of visitors/families we encountered during our wandering around the garden. It was a nice day with plenty to marvel at and some quirky cactus ice cream to enjoy. I felt lucky that we happened to visit at a time of year when some of the cacti were flowering.
There was a section of the garden still under construction, which we were sad to have missed out on and would come back to see completed. I would have liked to see a notice or something about when that might be.
During our journey through the different sections of plants, we remarked how nice it would be if there was an oasis-type area with a fountain and some shade to sit and rest in amidst the hundreds of cacti and desert spaces.

first impression was very very nice, but as soon as i got inside i was not impressed by the garden. probably they got some bad weather before i came, hence i saw some plants fell over and lots of water puddles. Also, there are no significant distinctions between different trails, not sure what they want they tell us the visitor for having 6-7 different trails. i would expect that there is some storytelling behind the trails that visitor can follow and feel the difference between trails. lastly, maybe they are out of staff, hence maintaining the big garden becomes tiring, so i saw lots of things that need to be tidied up more so that it looks more appealing.

My partner and I had a fantastic time visiting Cactus Country! It's definitely worth a visit. An unbelievable variety of cacti and succulents to see, and fun walk trails to meander through. We discovered so much! There were so many flowers blooming beautifully when we visited over the Easter weekend. Try their nachos, cactus cake and frozen margaritas at the lovely Mexican themed cafe. You won't be disappointed. The nachos and the cactus cake were absolutely delicious. It's a great place to take photos, so make sure to take your time and enjoy every aspect of this wonderful place. Kudos to the owners for the love and hard work they have put into growing the cacti and making this place so enjoyable for visitors.
