The Mishawaka Riverwalk is a calming and relaxing place to walk, jog, or bike. Start at Central park, go past the gentle waterfall, through Kamm Island and find yourself in South Bend if you go the distance. Serene.

the walk is scenic and lovely. the only think we disliked were the Canadian Geese and fertilize everything including the side walk. Volunteers regularly patrol the area on golf carts so we always feel safe.

I highly recommend the Mishawaka River Walk. I live close to Merrifield Park and use the river walk regularly to walk or ride my bike. They also have an outdoor fitness center on the route in Battell Park. Mishawaka has such great parks and 5 of them are connected by the river walk (Merrifield, Central, Battell, Beutter and Kamm’s Island). It’s always clean and well lit. Mishawaka does a great job of hosting events like summer concerts, festivals and even a farmers market on Sundays which are all accessible from the river walk. It’s a great place to be!

I went for a walk aong the river this afternoon. There were people of people around but nowhere felt crowded. I loved the pedestrian bridges to cross back and forth. I parked on the street down by Batelle park. There were plenty of spots available. I went down to Central Park and returned. The sidewalks are perfect for bikes and scooters. Everything was clean and well kept. There are public restrooms as you keep walking toward the Central Park area. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. I saw quite a few dogs out for a walk all on leashes. I spent about an hour here. What a treasure in the city. I was in town for my son's baseball tournament and this ws a treat to wak around after a day in the bleachers!

The Mishawaka Riverwalk is a fantastic 6-7 foot wide concrete path landscaped for better than three miles through the city's many parks along the St. Joe River. It connects Kate's Garden at one end, meanders through Battell Park past a lovely depression-era rock water feature, connecting with several pedestrian bridges spanning the river itself, and continuing through the beautiful new family play areas in Central Park with its waterfall over a century-old dam. From there you can cross the river to see the water cascades and flowers of Beutter Park and return by way of the peaceful Kamm's Island--or you can walk past the stately houses on Edgewater Avenue to the next bridge to see Merrifield Park. I can't imagine any city matching this Mishawaka venue for simple strolling along for peaceful exercise, playing Pokemon Go, or just taking in the scenery. Probably the best place to start, though, would be in either Central or Beutter Parks--where there's ample space for leaving your car. I really recommend this walk for everybody of any age!

It was a warm Saturday afternoon in mid-February and we decided to go down to the park with the kids. They had a great time playing on the playgrounds and then we decided to go for a walk on the river walk. We definitely did not go as far as the paved pathway could have taken us, but it was a nice walk none the less. We went pretty far and had a great time even with the kids in tow. Can't wait for nice weather to go back again and maybe even visit in the evening when the bridge is lit up in different colors.

Primarily Central Park portion. Very scenic, good fishing access for steelhead, bass, and walleye. Good bathroom facilities, lots of benches, park activities, and parking.
