Came recommended from a friend. We did the half day canoeing. Prices were very reasonable and the water was great! Plenty of places to stop off and have a good time!

We were looking for an activity that would allow proper social distancing and general safety during the pandemic. So we called and asked what covid procedures they had in place. They told us that they were wiping down busses between routes and sanitizing all of the equipment between uses. They also told us that the busses that take you up river were only allowing 33 people on when the capacity was about 75, such that every other seat on the busses was empty. They also said they were encouraging masks. With this in mind, we made reservations thinking it would be fairly safe. When we arrived I was horrified. There was a huge crowd outside waiting for busses. The reservations seemingly meant nothing with how crowded things were. Not a single employee was wearing a mask, which was so reckless and showed an extreme lack of regard for the health of employees. I understand that it’s hot outside in the summer, but we wore masks and plenty of jobs require masks in non-pandemic times so it is not hard to do. Further, the statement that the busses would be at less than half capacity was a complete lie. They were school busses, that could maybe hold 75 children packed in, but with 33 full grown adults, there were only a couple seats left empty. If this company was going to disregard the fact that we are experiencing a pandemic, they could have at least been honest on the phone.

My wife, 2 of our friends and I decided to do the 14mile full day trip during low water time...that was a huge mistake. We got stuck multiple times on rocks and had to walk our canoe through, flipped our canoe once due to the current sweeping us into a tree(We wasn’t the only ones who flipped here, as soon as we got the water out of our boat another couple had the same issue) and not much shade during the noon-3pm time frame. They say 5-7hrs for the trip but during low water I would plan for 8hrs. We stopped only 3 times for maybe 10 mins each time and it took us 8hrs and 30mins to reach the end. I wouldn’t recommend the full day trip for beginners. The staff was pretty good for the most part and the scenery was decent, but just keep an eye on how low the water is when you go.

On the full day trip either paddle the entire time not stopping to swim or eat. You must make it back by 6 or you will be left. Left in the middle of nowhere. You might think about putting your own car in their lot so you will have a way back. Don't bother letting them know anything other than they are great wonderful. Any complaint just know its your fault not theres!!!!!! They take no responsibility for the people who make their jobs and business possible. Sad truly to write this after 26 years of enjoying the place but damn get left in the middle of no where and you get a feeling they do not care. I am sure they will respond with how it's my fault. Good luck folks, paddle hard!!!!! YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN TRULY! Pray you don't get serious hurt, they do not come looking for you and they do not know exactly how many people are out there. Ask about their clipboard records.Someone can't count or didn't care.

Me (James) and my wife Kimberly Newbolt 6/17/2020. At 2:00 bus ride to start the 7 miles canoeing. Thought we had it down right to began our canoe down the stretch. instead, we got a run for our money. We had a struggling time get down the water way. It was difficult for us. We had no clue. When we stop to take a bite to eat. That's when everything went down hill for us. We had the boat going the wrong way. We hit a stop and got turned over on the boat. My wife bruise her knee. There about six people help us. Two couples. A guy with a bunch of tattoos. And two kayakers boaters. They were amazing people. Without them. We could not of made it. There were another family that just did canoeing two days before. They also helped us along the way. Amazing town of people. We love the gathering around us on the water. Even though we were the last one . Took us 4 hours to make it back. Whoever those guys are. We like to treat them or thank them for being so kind and caring for their time to get us going and preaching us to paddle ourselves to the end. We are sore and tired. Again. Find those people to thank them for us. The 2:00 crew and the 3:00 crew. The 3pm crew is the one that really stood by us. Fill free to give them our email address. Kimsugar42@gmail.com We would like to hear from them. Please go to your register and find those canoeing riders. Amazing nicest people in the world. Thank you guys a million. It was a lifetime achievement.
