We enjoyed the clean trails and some history as well. They have a kids park as well if you play Pokémon there are a lot of a lot here and stops lol. They also give you a paper map.We definitely enjoyed ourself.

We were staying in Fennville, Michigan and I picked this place to meet my daughter and her family in Chicago which was about half way in between. We wanted to be outside in this coronavirus situation. Lucky, the weather cooperated. There was a reasonable fee - discount for my wife and I as senior citizens. There was also a set up for a wedding and reception and a lake we sat by. There are benches around which was also nice, or you can bring a blanket to sit on, if you wish. The landscape was well maintained. We did not hike, so cannot comment on that. The info said there was over 100 acres, so I assume you can wonder around and find many nice areas- more of less private, as you like.

We came by the garden by accident during our little road trip to Michigan City, Indiana. It was quite & peaceful. We enjoyed our stroll through the garden. It is not professionally manuicured garden, however we enjoyed it just the same. It was 96 degrees with 95% humidity and with the cloud cover and the shade trees it was a nice stroll.

Beautiful place. We were able to walk around, we had a picnic. There was a wedding going on in one area of the place. We felt at peace with nature. The landscapers obviously work very hard on the upkeep here.

This is a cute, decent place. I went here this summer with my husband and I just went into it with different expectations. I was thinking it would be more like a botanical garden with lots and lots of flowers and blooming plants. It does have some flowers and plants, but also several areas that are just fields and then the hiking trails.

If you want to do the hiking trail, I would recommend wearing some type of gym shoe. I wore cute shoes not realizing about the trails. In some places the trails are a bit overgrown and wild, so you will have to be ready to push plants aside, etc. You may want long pants so you won't scratch your legs. I would recommend bug spray as well.

Overall, it is an okay way to spend an afternoon and probably nice for kids to run around in, but don't go in to it expecting to see flowers like you would at an arboretum or botanical garden.

This is indeed a hidden gem in the Chicago area. . About 100 acres, half woodland trails and half lawn and gardens. In May the flowering trees are spectacular - later June roses, annuals and perennials are highlighted. It is incredibly peaceful. A great place to "Get away from it all". Two of my children were married there in the last five years. Guest from all over the country loved it.

My daughter was married at the International Friendship Gardens recently. The location is beautiful and perfect if you're looking for an outdoor venue. The garden staff is made up of volunteers and we struggled with them returning phone calls and general organization for our event. No one seemed to know what was going on despite the many calls made and forms submitted to try to get everyone on the same page. The night of the rehearsal was a bit caotic. We were told that we only had one hour as there was a second rehearsal following ours. Someone from the Gardens arrived to facilitate who knew nothing of our arrangements and we spent half of our time answering all of her questions which would have been in our file if she'd have had it. We felt rushed and unorganized as we left. Mesquitos were an issue but that was the handy work of Mother Nature and to be expected with an outdoor venue. All in all, once we got through the details and they stressful planning moments, it was a beautiful wedding.

We went to the International Friendship Gardens for our annual commemoration of September 11th. The Gardens are perfect for our sitting and walking meditation. The original purpose of the Gardens, installed for a world's fair, is totally congruent with forgiveness, peacefulness, and mindfulness. It's a lovely place to spend a few hours.
