I only had time for the shorter 40 minute tour. The time went by too fast. Our tour guide was Brooke who did an excellent job of explaining the cave history and pointing out how to protect the caves. I loved the rock formations. I...More

We enjoyed our family visit to Marengo Cave. Clean and well organized with knowledgeable staff. If you think you've been in one cave, you've been in them all, that is simply not true. Marengo is well presented.

Was a great tour and easy to do. 22 steps at the end were the most steps. The 52° temp in the cave felt good on a 90° day! Phil, our guide did an excellent job. We took the hour tour.

No. There are time intervals between each tour so if you go unplanned like I did you'll have to hang around the gift shop until they announce the next tour time.

Marengo Cave Underground Adventure (7 Replies)
I would like reviews from those of you who have done the Underground Adventure in Marengo Cave. This is the crawling tour. I am planning to do this in July 2011. Was it fun? Did you take pix? Do I need a flash on my disposable camera or do the "headlights" provide enuf light (probably not). Also, which walking tour is best? Crystal Palace tour or Dripstone Trail tour? Thanks

I have not done the crawling tour (though I have done it at Bluespring Caverns, and if it's anything alike, it's fun but very tight, dirty, and hard on your knees). I did both tours and wrote a review on it, which you can find here on TA. I have been to several caves in the midwest and east and I think Marengo is one of the best.

Best caves around Louisville (7 Replies)
We will be in Louisville for two days in May and are planning on visiting two caves in Southern Indiana. Our three choices are Wyandotte Cave, Marengo Cave, and Squire Boone Caverns. If you could only visit two of these three, which two are the best?
