The cave is truly beautiful and I´m not saying it´s not worth a vist; it definitely is. The problem I do find though, is the lack of professionalism when it comes to managing said cave. The way the lighting and the sound system was set up made me cringe. It feels like somebody has been lucky enought to inherit a... More

The cave is a natural wonder yet I wonder why at 10 in the morning there is only one line open to buy tickets and souvenirs. So there I was waiting in a line behind several young girls buying trinkets. There is only one cash resister(computer) open. Of course they announce the final call for the next cave your while... This is a great place to take kids. It's not a strenuous walk and is very informative, plus it's a cave. How cool is that? I especially liked the compete dark out. I've also been to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and prefer the self paced/guided but understand the advantages and disadvantages of both ways.

Thanks for the great review. Glad your family enjoyed Marengo Cave tours. We have so many formations in our cave that you have to have a guide take you though. Look forward to seeing your family again. More

We visited Marengo caves with a group of 15 people and grandparents to 10 year olds all enjoyed the cave and tour. It is a living cave, with a lot of drapery, flow stone, and some other interesting formations.

Visited here with grandpa, one teenager and a child. Loved the cave tour and the tour guide. They have a cute gift shop. There are stairs coming out of the cave, so if you have bad knees..it may not be suitable for you. Loved the penny ceiling and we were able to take great pictures! I don't really have any... More

This is a great place to take kids but adults will enjoy it too. I went when I was a kid and now that we had our 5 year old nephew for the weekend, we took him too. We took both the Dripstone and the Crystal Palace tours. The Dripstone tour is about an hour long with about a mile... More

Thanks for the 4* review on Trip Advisor. The Marengo Cave is a great family trip, because "children" of all ages enjoy the amazing formations under ground. Phil does love his job here. Justin is younger and is still working on his own style. Gem stone miming is always a favorite of children. Look forward to your return visit. Glad... More

This is truly an amazing experience to walk through the caves and see the handiwork of nature over hundreds of years. Be sure to wear a jacket as the temperature is in the low 50s underground.

The tour guide was new. Many lights were out of service on the tour, causing some formations to be un-viewable. The tour itself is easy. Any age can handle it. I've been on better tours but this is fun enough.

Thanks for coming to visit Marengo Cave. We do hire new guides each year. They go though a training program and we also do evaluation after that. I am sorry about the lights not working, that is not a problem we usually have. Glad you did think the tour was fun. Look forward to seeing you again on a tour.... More

My husband and I took our 12 year old son and 13 year old daughter caving for my son's birthday. This facility and cave is excellent for beginners and experienced people. We did the icave combo the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
