We went on both the "crystal palace" and "dripstone trail" tours (Phil was our tour guide for both). The tour was very informative, and it was a great experience. The cave isn't as large as some, but there are nice examples of cave stone formations. We went there in early December, and there were very few people on either of... More

Thanks for the great 5* review. Phil loves to tell his guest about Marengo Cave, he does a wonderful job. We have very beautiful formations in the cave. The max is 30 people on a tour, but this time of year we usually have less that on the tour. Great time to visit. Look forward to your return. More

It was a wonderful experience to go inside a cave and to see a fall and lakes. It also has a small shop to buy some souvenirs and a beautiful entrance to take pictures.

My husband and I took our 11 and 8 year old grandsons to visit Marengo Cave on a beautiful Saturday in November. The boys were a bit concerned having never been in a cave and thinking we were going to crawl through tight spaces. Grandpa showed them pictures from the website and they were relieved. We took two tours. They... More

If you are looking for a first-time visit to a cave, this is not the one to go to. Save your money and go to Carlsbad Caverns in NM or Karchner Caves in SE AZ. I have not gone to many caves in IN but I wish I had known that this one had been ravaged by the private owners... More

Greetings was/is - I wanted to reach out and respond to your post concerning your visit to Marengo Cave. I must say I am surprised to see that your visit was less than great. We go to great lengths to protect our cave from any form of vandalism or ravage and have since the cave was discovered in 1883. Our... More

Very nice "live" cave. Easy access and very knowledgable guides. Two trais to choose from. Just a few minutes from I64. If you need to take a break and let the kids run, this is a great option.

Sami was out tour guide. She did a nice job. We went on a rainy day and it was packed. It was packed with multiple school field trips taking place at the Caves. We went on the short tour and with 3 kids ranging from 4-11, it was a good enough distances. The kids enjoyed the trip and would probably... More

We did both the Crystal Palace and the dripstone. There were 5 of us and different opinions on which one was the best so if you have the time do both tours. You will hear some of the same things on both tours but they are still fun.

We traveled here on the advice of a cave owner in South Dakota (he told us we had a great cave in Indiana) while we were touring the Rushmore Cave in South Dakota. We arrived late and were the last tour of the day. Our guide was Will and he made the experience absolutely fantastic. It was a friend, myself... More

This was our first cave tour and we weren't disappointed. Our family of 4 (2 adults/2 tweens) enjoyed our visit. Our Dripstone tour guide, Hawk, kept our group, even the kiddos, interested. She was great. Phil, our tour guide for the Crystal Palace portion of the tour was good also. He was a wealth of information. There are beautiful spots... More
