We had one day to spend in Madison over a weekend. We elected to tour the Lanier Mansion during the afternoon heat. It was a welcome relief to be admitted quickly to the historic home. We started in the front entrance and wound our way through the downstairs rooms and then up to the second and third floors. The tour... More

I have been here years ago during The Nights Before Christmas event. However, the in depth tour about the house and owner exceeded expectations. Our docent was friendly and knowledgeable. Considering this was a large group the tour was handled very well and went just about an hour in length. The house is truly a gem not to be missed.... More

We toured the home and got to see all three levels of the historic mansion with a guide. The only area off limits to visitors is the kitchen & servants quarters which are being restored to the period and hopefully opening in a year. The home is full of architectural details and period furnishings and you learn about a prominent... More

We toured the Lanier Mansion as our first stop in Madison, and we are so glad we did. The house is spectacular and the docent was interesting, funny, engaging and full of information. The house is amazingly well preserved, and full of authentic furniture. It's truly like taking a step back in time. Highly recommend this tour!

We took a tour of the Lanier Mansion for the Christmas tour in Madison. The tour guide was great and the mansion is beautiful. I really enjoyed the history and beauty of the house. It is a little expensive to take a tour, but a gorgeous house.

We really enjoyed our tour of the Lanier Mansion with knowledge and accessible guide, Mike. It is truly a beautiful and well preserved home. And it was interesting to hear of Lanier's influence in 19th century American history. Note, tours are on the hour. And on the Sunday we visited, the same guy who was your guide was also taking...
