Madison is such a beautiful town with a very wide and long Main Street. The old historic homes are gorgeous and well kept. A nice old fountain is worth a walk by and coin toss along with a good place for a pic. A lot...More

Madison is the friendliest town I have ever been to. All the shop owners are nice and helpful. We just love it here, and you will too. Be sure to go down to the riverwalk.

Downtown Madison is absolutely beautiful with historic architecture located on the Ohio River. Downtown is filled with antique shops, boutiques, and yummy restaurants. Even the manhole covers are beautiful, crazy I know but true. The people we encountered were very welcoming and lovely as well.

This historic downtown is the largest National Landmarks Historic District. So many blocks of wonderful buildings, well cared care and filled with the coolest independent businesses ever. Eat, drinking, shopping, river-walking and visiting museums are all available here. I will be back.

Although it’s not quite the best venue for my 11 year old nephew, the historic district is a fun place to visit. Some strange shops, too, but some great antique stores. Many stores, however, are closed during the winter.

Although many of the stores were closed because of the timing of our visit, we were impressed by the overall well taken care of look of the downtown.

Stayed in a lovely, historic cottage in Madison for a girls weekend with Mom. Loved the shops & quaint atmosphere of the town. Found some great deals at the Antique Mall & some cute things at the Floating Cow.

There is so much to do in Madison's Historic District from shopping at locally owned shops, visiting interesting landmarks and attractions to strolling along tree-lined streets framed with beautifully restored homes and businesses.

I am not sure if you can tour courthouse or not. We never asked. I took pictures of exterior. We were too busy enjoying other attractions.
