If you are a horse lover then this is the place for you. Most horse farm tours don't let you get all that close to the animals. Sandy Acres VIP tour not only lets you feed the horses (and all their cute mini donkeys, Shetland ponies, and fainting goats...yep fainting goats!), but you also get to brush one of the horses!!! It was a magical experience getting to hang out and get so close to such gentle giants. Dawn, who led our tour, was so easy going it felt like hanging out with a friend. You can tell that Sandy Acres truly care about their animals and love each and every one of them. I had such an amazing time. They also went out of their way to fit us in, which we truly appreciated. Cannot say enough great things about this place. If you are in the area I definitely suggest making the trip. So easy to get to from Chicago as well as the Michigan Beach Towns.

I have always loved horses and definitely had to make a trip to see these majestic Clydesdales! Bonus was all the other animals there! VIP package was worth it! The boys and Grandma had a blast! They are already asking to go back! Such hospitality and friendly!

My wife and I were given VIP passes for Christmas from one of our children. The certificate allowed us to schedule a visit to groom, feed, and interact with the Sandy Acre’s clydesdales as well as the various other birds and animals on the farm. Our hosts, Steve and Dawn, were very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us a tour of their farm and conveyed to us the farm’s interesting history, as well as that of each animal. They also told us what it takes financially and physically to operate such an enterprise. My wife and I had a wonderful time and plan on attending any upcoming events, especially the fall Open House. We highly recommend this for people who love horses or animals in general. This was a wonderful gift and experience.

If you are in this area .... be sure to make this one of your stops. We visited Sandy Acres and enjoyed every minute of our tour. Our three-year-old grandson enjoyed feeding carrots to the donkeys and ponys, as well as petting them. They have quite a collection of chickens, several with brightly colored and multi-patterned feathers. The horses are beautiful. We enjoyed currying them, petting them, and feeding them carrots. The two foals are so cute. They are calm and enjoy attention, which is good, because a person could pet them all day long. It was interesting to learn about this breed. It is obvious it takes a lot of love and attention to raise these beauties, and they receive it from the family who runs this beautiful farm!
