St. John Evangelist Church is in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. It's beautiful Gothic Spires give a sense of a Euorpean setting. St. John's is recently restored due to a fire, and the beautiful original paintings and design was preserved. It is a lovely old church that is still in use with daily mass and reconciliation scheduled. There is a side door and a parking lot available from Georgia street. It is directly across the street from the convention center and can... More

Fantastic opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist in an historic church in downtown Indy. The congregation was very involved and the Parish Priest was insightful and inspirational. We plan to go back this month to visit.

This was worth a stop inside to see the beauty of Saint John Evangelist Catholic Church. It is a short distance from Union Station.

If you're visiting our fair city and want to attend mass, but missed it in the morning, have no fear for they offer a 7:00 pm Sunday mass. It's the young adult mass, so Fr. Rick often gears it more towards the younger crowd, which is always refreshing. If you can't find a spot in the adjoining surface lot at... More

This church has survived right in the middle of everything else old and traditional being torn down around it. It is the only thing that is left between the parking structure and the convention center that is original. Beautiful church.

I attended an Easter Vigil here and this is an absolutely beautiful church. This was my first Catholic Easter Vigil as my friend was being confirmed. I enjoyed the service the people and the scenery. A tucked away special treat in downtown Indy.

I've been to a couple of weekday masses. I love the altar and solemnity when you go before or after mass. Their audio is a little off and sometimes make it hard for me to understand the priest. The church is big inside. They have the Christmas Village back in December, which was not well attended during the day, but... More

This Church is beautiful. The Masses are also nice. You can come pray here and it is quiet and peaceful. They have beautiful statues.
