Our group of three people merged with two others groups for a day of brewery hopping across Indianapolis. As a local craft beer lover I was excited that our tour included three locations I had never visited. Our driver, Dan, was very knowledgeable about beer as a home-brewer and his soundtrack made for a lively commute between destinations.
We visited Indiana City Brewing, The Koelschip, Centerpoint Brewing, and Fountain Square Brewing. Some stops were better than others. I particularly enjoyed Indiana City. They had a tremendous selection of tasty brews and the building itself, with a history as a prohibition brewer merged with modern illustration and decor, was pretty awesome.
By the end of the day we had bonded with our fellow touring friends and had bought some of our favorite beers to take home with us. I would highly recommend giving the Indy Brew Bus a try whether you're a local looking to expand your knowledge of local breweries or a visitor wanting to see the city while enjoying local flavors.

Thanks for spending your day on the Indy Brew Bus. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience! Nothing brings people together like local, craft beer. Cheers!

We had an amazing time of the brew bus tour! Our driver Pete was nothing short of fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the breweries but more importantly he was super accommodating and high spirited! He kept us on track/time and made our experience even more enjoyable with good music and good laughs! My boyfriend and I️ have been living in Indy for two years and my parents were in town visiting, we had never been to these breweries before but they were all great. We were paired up with a group of guys, having a bachelor party, who added to our laughs and good vibes! Only recommendation or thing I️ would change next time is I️ would bring food/sandwiches of some sort on the bus. Not all the breweries have food but other than that 10/10 recommend the brew bus!

Well organized fun and informational. Our driver / host fulfilled his goal of entertaining and informing us about Indy - the breweries and rich history of both. Can’t wait for our next long weekend in Indy to do another tour.

My best friend and I met in Indy for a girls weekend. We decided to take the Brew Bus tour to see the city and check out the local breweries. Our Brew Bus driver, Peter, was awesome! He was funny and tried to make everyone happy by asking us all what music we would like for him to play. We went to four different breweries and had samples at each. We had enough time at each one to sit down and drink a beer and not feel rushed.
I would recommend the Brew Bus for a good time!
We tipped our driver but I would have liked to have given him a better tip. Maybe add a square or credit card machine on the bus for tips?

Thank you for the review! We appreciate you spending your girls weekend with us! There should have been a Square and Venmo option on the bus, we'll follow up on that. Cheers!

As someone who enjoys going to Indy but didn't grow up there, this is an awesome way to see different parts of the city and get familiar with their craft beer scene. We had a lot of fun with our tour guide Elvis who made the experience fun and informational. And don't be afraid to get to know other folks who are on the bus ride with ya, makes it more fun!

Great day out for a bunch of friends. There were 8 of us looking to do something for a birthday and this was a great choice. Rex the driver was very entertaining and a good laugh. We were picked up from Downtown and went to 3 local breweries in the area. Even though I live Downtown I hadn't been to any of the breweries we visited before. You get bought a drink by the driver at each location and can buy more yourself if wanted. Some of the breweries had food trucks outside so that you could eat if you wanted to. There was a good mix of breweries - we went to Indiana City Brewing Co., Black Acre in Irvington, and Fountain Sq Brewery - and there was a surprise photo opportunity along the way! It was nice to be able see the different locations and socialize with friends, rather than just sit in a bar all day.

Dan was our driver very friendly nice guy. We were visiting from the Tampa Bay area and had a great time. I am not a beer drinker and craft beers are apparently not my style. The second place we went I was told had craft cocktails I was very excited, but they would not take my free drink ticket, or just charge me the difference I was a little disappointed in that but the drink was good. The 3rd place had a spritzer kind on beer and that was good as well. The places were unique. Dan on the way back dropped us of at a place of choice and that was wonderful. I would recommend.

I just happened to stumble upon the Indy Brew Bus when looking for things to do on our weekend getaway. I booked it last minute on Friday for a Saturday tour. The time of the tour fit perfectly into our schedule. We were able to take our car and bags to the hotel and while we waited for our room to be ready, we jumped on the bus. The Brew Bus picked us up right at the front door of our hotel. We visited 4 different breweries. At each stop our bus driver Reed gave us some history about each brewery and recommended different beers to try. Each stop gave us several samples to try and then we ordered a pint of beer once we found our favorite at each stop. Our absolute favorite beer of this trip was a peanut butter stout from Garfield Brewery. (I highly recommend that beer!) We bought a growler of that and were able to keep it iced down in the cooler on the bus until we were done. Overall it was a great day! Reed was an awesome tour guide. It was fun to visit each brewery and see how unique each of them were. The length of the tour was perfect. We definitely are ready to do this again. Hopefully next time with a bus full of our family and friends because I know they will enjoy it too.

Recently my boyfriend and I decided to do a weekend vacation to Indy, while researching we found the Brew Bus and we are beyond happy we did! It’s definitely worth every penny! Our tour guide Reed was so down to earth, super fun, very educational, and made sure we found something we like at each brewery! The group we were with were a fun bunch too. It’s definitely something that we plan on coming back to Indy and doing again. We hope to be lucky enough to get Reed as our guide all over again too. If you are on the fence about doing this, don’t be, because if you don’t you’ll truly regret it. Best part, they pick you up from wherever you are and will drop you off anywhere on the way back too! Cannot wait until we visit Indy again because we will definitely be going on another downtown tour for sure! Thank you Brew Bus and thank you Reed! You made our day amazing!

I'll be in Indy for a quick stop overnight. Any idea where I can buy some 3 Floyds to take back to NY? tia
Written December 6, 2018
You should be able to find some at any Liquor store. I would recommend calling some ahead of time to see if they have it. Big Red Liquors is usually pretty good.

Agree with Lisa K. I don't think where you stay is an issue. We stayed at the Residence on the canal and they picked us up right in front. A group of girls parked nearby and got on in the same stop.

How much is the tour and how long does it take?
Written August 30, 2015
Tickets are $30 per person and includes transportation to and from your downtown, Broad Ripple or Greenwood pick up location to 4 local breweries on a three-hour tour, approximately 3 samples of beer at each brewery, bottles of water on the bus, coolers on board to keep your purchased growlers cold, a Personal Sampling Scorecard to help you keep track of the all the beers you like and the unforgettable experience of drinking with friends on a bright green school bus. Saturday tours are about 3 hours, 15 min. and all others are around 3 hours.
Written August 31, 2015
If there are only two of us can we join another group for a tour?
Written August 30, 2015
Absolutely! Tickets are sold on an individual basis, so you can buy 1 - 14 tickets. Most of our tours are combined of smaller groups. Cheers!
