This is a very interesting and thorough museum of the history of the state of Indiana. It starts at the beginning: over 100 million years ago. Exhibits then work their way to the present day. The special exhibits right now are celebrating Indiana's bicentennial with 200 works of art (paintings, sculpture, etc) from Indiana and 200 artifacts that help tell... More

The second floor history of Indiana and its people really put time and local culture in perspective. The museum restaurant was awesome! The creative menu was refreshing and affordable!

I highly recommend this museum to all. Despite growing up in Indianapolis, I had forgotten so much about Indiana history. Displays are imaginative and extraordinarily interesting. The Foucault pendulum sucks you into watching it knocking over pegs. The special exhibit about the 200 years of statehood is a must. Parking is easy underground. IMAX theater was terrific - show we... More

This is a great overview of a great state. We skipped natural history to have more time for the "100 items" exhibit and cultural wing. Plan 2+hours for everything. The cafeteria had closed but looked like a great stop for lunch!

This museum tells a lot about the city. My friend and I completed it in 2 hours. We then went to see a show in the Imax theatre.this was my first imax show and I totally enjoyed it. Very good for families who can enjoy the museum and a show..

We just took our grandson to the Indiana state museum. Three floors of wonderful exhibits. Natural History cultural history and the special art exhibit on the throes floor. Allow at least 2 hours. We would go again

I went through the museum with my family ranging in age from 13 through 50 and we all liked it. We spent 3 to 4 hours there including lunch. The museum is laid out well and spread over 3 floors. The first floor starts the "pre-history" of Indiana and then goes through present time on the second floor. The third... More

I spent a short time in the museum, (because of time constraints) but what I saw was very impressive. This is a very nice state museum. Check it out.

My kids are huge Star Wars fans so we came for this special exhibit. We were pleasantly surprised at the rest of the museum. It was nice, historical, informative, and quaint. A good stop at a good price.
