Underrated Gem

Eagle Creek is a beautiful city park, on par with state parks. Fantastic for quick hikes, strolling along the reservoir with your dogs, or family outings.

it's true! look it up! There's no better place that is a quick, easy drive away that offers up wild life in their natural state. zip-lining. water-sports. botanical gardens. etc. the list goes on. an absolute must visit for all hoosiers and people across the midwest, not just for residents of Indianapolis

There are NOT lots of deer and those that are in the park will likely be shot during their annual tame deer slaughter. Hiking trails have deteriorated so much that they can be dangerous when covered with leaves or snow. Eagle Creek Park is a great place for bird watching, having a picnic or water activities. It is most enjoyable... More

Not very far from the downtown Indianapolis, this is one of the must-visit places in Indianapolis, especially during summers and fall. Great place to hangout - many lakes and reservoirs. There is Go Ape Adventures within the park which is open from April to October. The Eagle Creek Earth Discovery Center, right next to Go Ape, is quite a good... More

Eagle Creek is a great place to go running, biking, swim in summer, and hike trails. There are LOTS of deer- you almost certainly will see deer. It's always pleasant- year round. There are miles of trails and the streets have a pedestrian lane (and speed limits in park are slow)- there are several miles of road in the park... More

Not to be missed. Definitely go to the ornithology center. Top-notch, grade A. There are schedule events at the center, so you should check ahead to see if something is particularly interesting.

We were here during fall when the weather was turning cooler. But in the summer I think it looks like a very nice place for outdoor recreation.

Was a little disappointed that we had to pay admission to a municipal park (I expect this at state or national parks). But we did enjoy bringing our dog here for a walk. Some decent views of Eagle Creek Lake and somewhere around 10 miles of walking trails.

I was in Indy along with my friend Aji George on a business trip, late October and visited this place on a week end (thanks to John April and family). A perfect place to walk, enjoy the nature and learn about birds. The small bird museum was superb. We walked around the lake, watched people fishing, cormorants and terns fly... More

The Eli Lilly family gave this park to our city. It has bicycle trails, water features, walking trails and lots of deer, birds- including bald eagles and herons and lots of green- specimen trees and shrubs throughout. A great place for a picnic, snow shoeing, jogging and getting away from the rat race.

Thank William L
