My husband & I went to Indianapolis for a long weekend to catch the NASCAR race. We followed the cultural path (green & blue stones) to the canal. We rented a recumbent bike for two & pedaled around the canal. It was a beautiful 3mile round trip. The homes, restaurants & water attractions are very nice.

Nice wide pathway, plenty of spots to turn around. Well laid out. Even a spot to rent kayaks along the way!

We came to Indy to see a NASCAR race at the Brickyard. This stop was a nice way to spend an hour. Clean, safe, nice. We hit it after our visit to Monument Circle. Lots of people around searching for Pokemon! Lol

What a lovely unexpected surprise in downtown Indy. Unique gathering space with plenty of room for bikes, skateboards and walkers to coexist. We were there during a Pokémon Go event and even with thousands of participants there was plenty of room for every one. Paddleboards, kayaks and bikes are available for rent. Lots of green space for picnics, etc. Hopefully... More

Although $35 seemed a little steep, we thoroughly enjoyed our hour on the Central Canal. The shady canopy and the cool breezes made it a welcome refuge on a hot July day. The canal is charming and peaceful and an hour and fifteen minutes is plenty of time to do the whole length. (You get fifteen minutes grace before they... More

We really wanted to rent a paddle boat or pedal car to ride around in. But at $35 an hour, it just seemed like too much, especially since it's operated by the state parks. I realize that this is a very unique location, but paddle boats in the rest of the state parks cost a few dollars in comparison. I... More

A must if you enjoy being outside. There are paddle boats, kayaks and various types of bikes available for rent. A great place to walk or run. A part of White River State Park along with the Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum and NCAA Hall of Champions. Round trip is 3 miles and you can stop for snack at Burgerhaus... More

We had plenty of time to just stroll and take in the scenery on this canal. There were rentals for paddle boating, kayaking, gondolas, and bike rentals for up to 4 people. I enjoyed the statues, monuments, and gardens. But there was so much that we'll have to go back again to see and do everything.

This area of Indianapolis is stunning! The canal surrounded by a park with all kinds of interesting plaques and statues to stop and read. Great way to spend an afternoon downtown.
