Cool behind-the-scenes tour!

We were fortunate enough to have a behind-the-scenes tour. Got to get our photos in the winner's circle, see the press box, get on the track and kiss the bricks. Great fun for our... read more

We came to IMS for a victory lap. It was as I expected it. My 9 year old had the time of his life. The lap is extremely fast, was over in 1.5 min, so $60 seems a bit steep. A professional drives the car, so it's quite an experience for kids. My son is still talking about how awesome... More

Pace car ride was everything and more than we expected. Riding around the track at speeds over 125 mph.

We have sat in Grandstand C, in the top rows, for many decades. The race never fails to be exciting. The ticket price (@$100) is worth every penny. Even if you have never been to a race event, this one will be something you will never forget.

My first closed circuit race event visit was on the qualification for the Indy 500, the weekend before the race. What an experience! Fantastic track, amazing speeds and most of all we could get close to everything: the garages, the pit lane, the Trophee ... everything, even the drivers! Great experience! Would do it again, perhaps preferring ths to the... More

I had been to the race 45 years ago, but my wife had never been and she wanted to go. So, we went for the 100th running of the race. Even if you are not a race fan, this experience should be on your bucket list - because that's what it is, an experience. Enjoying an event with 350,000 other... More

Not a big racing fan but went with family for the 100th running and very glad we did. The speedway is massive as is the excitement level. Definitely worth the trip.

We went to the 100th running of the Indy 500 for the life experience and we were impressed. The event was very well run given there were over 350,000 people in attendance. The key is to get there early and leave a little early to beat the crowds. The cars travel at a tremendous speed and you could feel it... More

I just attended the 100th event and despite there being 350,000 fans, we didn't spend too long a time in lines. The "500" employees were sooo efficient despite the huge crowds particularly those for whom this was their first "500" race. They were pleasant and helpful and made the experience well worth it!

Arrived at 8 am for a 9 am driving experience. That first hour is used to sign waivers, and fit you for your driving suit, helmet, gloves, booties, etc. Then a short orientation on vehicle operations and safety protocols. The cars are real (prior generation) Indy cars that have actually raced in the Indy 500 (with lower horsepower engines). The... More
