Although we have never spent the night we always have a fun time. We play individually as well as together at the same slot machine. Sometimes my husband plays black jack or craps. You should try it!

Service is rude it seems that the horseshoe need to tighten up. Always thinks about how they handle difficult situations and how the outcome will be. You can't ask some of the dealers questions because they don't feel like it or the body language is...More

No hotels although there are plenty of shuttles throughout the city and the run twice a hour. Check horseshoes site on line for times and pickup locations.

Temporary Vegas Fix (19 Replies)
I guess I am good for another month or so! We don't leave until July, but spent last night at the Horseshoe in Bossier City, LA (about an hour away). Very nice hotel/casino. Won about $100 on penny slots, but put it back. 'Gold Fish' and 'Acropolis' were the best to me. Thanks to TA for pointing out 'Gold Fish' and how fun it was. I kept getting that Fish Bonus!! Does anyone else take these quick trips to satisfy their casino cravings? Mrs. G

Horseshoe Rooms - Standard vs Premium (2 Replies)
I see there isn't a lot of activity here - and not sure anybody has experience in this - but thought I'd give it a shot. We are visiting Horseshoe in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to get a better feel for the different room types - standard queen vs premium queen. From all I can tell via website photos, description, etc: Standard - smaller room, smaller bathroom, but more recently updated. Premium - larger room, larger bathroom, TV in bathroom, but more outdated. I just can't...More

Is there a casino near you that makes you feel like Vegas? (47 Replies)
I live in Chicago so we have psychotic gaming laws. There are 0 casinos in Chicago at all. Only the suburbs. There has been a weird rule about the casino being surrounded by water until 5-6 years ago when they ironically created Rivers casino which is not on a river. Rivers has that Cosmopolitan casino feel but Illinois only allows a vet aim amount of slots, tables, vet and nothing is ever open. We have Horseshoe in Indiana -a25 minute ride from downtown- and I used to go there every weekend....More

3 casinos in Detroit and one across the river in Canada. None make me feel like I'm in Vegas.
