We loved canoeing the Blue River. Old Mill Canoe’s welcome was warm and friendly. Directions for the trip were clear. I would love to give five stars but a few things could use improvement. Most significantly is the fact that Indiana has a mask mandate and Old Mill Canoe should be requiring all passengers and their driver to wear one on the small shuttle bus back. It’s a simple thing to do to keep their customers safe, but they were not following the governor’s order. The driver and several of the passengers were not masked, and there was no way to socially distance in the full bus. Small things that would also go a really long way and make the trip excellent: 1.) a clean toilet/bathroom, and 2.) communication when getting off the river. We weren’t told when the shuttle would arrive, where to wait, or welcomed/directed to get on the shuttle once it came about 25 minutes later. We were able to ask, of course, but zero communication from the staff was a bit odd and off-putting after such a sweet canoe trip.…

My sister inlaw reserved 3 canoes for 9 people and a dog. All canoes were in great shape, staff was friendly and accommadating. We arrived early and were launched early. The river was beautiful and the 12 mile run was great fun. At the end of the trip staff was there to help us disembark. The wait for bus pick up was shaded and there was enough seating for multiple families to wait comfortably. Bus ride back was comfortable and quick. We had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone who asked where a family friendly day trip could be taken . 10/10 would do it again.…

This was our first time visiting Old Mill Canoe. Our 16 year old daughter wanted to go kayaking, so we did a little research and decided to give Old Mill a shot. We were not disappointed. Everything ran very smoothly. We made our reservations online and also printed out our waivers and had those ready to present upon arrival. The staff were all very friendly and gave us perfect instructions on what to do/see/etc. The river itself was very relaxing a few area with small "rapids" - more like ripples. I actually had to get out of the canoe once or twice to push over some shallow, rocky sections - but no problems. We saw a ton of birds and turtles and even a water snake - which I believe is a non-venomous Northern Watersnake. I'm sure we will return to tackle this trip again in the future. We highly recommend.…

My husband and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary on the Blue River! Our original trip was planned for the Green River (canoe/camp), but we had to cancel the day before due to flooding.I quickly did some research and picked Old Mill Canoe's as our outfitter literally 2 hours before we left (we went up the night before). We were super impressed with the entire trip! The staff (Matt and his son) were AMAZING. They give some history of the river and area before you go. The water level was 3.76 which was absolutely perfect. We love canoeing and kayaking and this was by far our best trip! We paddled very little and enjoyed fishing and relaxing along the way. Although we did not do the 2 day canoe trip, we did camp at the takeout point. The camping area was VERY clean and Matt was very informative on how to get back out to the road when we departed the next morning. I expected a field, and was very impressed to see a mowed area of woods. It was gorgeous and we happened to have the entire area to ourselves due to it being the end of the summer. The staff at Old Mill go above and beyond to make sure you are pleased. They even did us an extra favor that they certainly did not have to do! We will continue to use Old Mill year after year. Although it was just the 2 of us on this trip, I would certainly recommend this river for someone traveling with kids! P.S - An otter has a home right next to the campground!!!! While doing some early morning fishing, he took a swim right next to me! ~ Amazing!…

Spent the day on Blue River and had a wonderful time. Old Mill Canoe Rental was wonderful. Very informative and genuinely kind. They explained the river conditions and what to expect. There was someone at the start to help you get into the river with little trouble and st the end they helped you out and pulled your gear up the banked and onto the trailers. Will most definitely be going back. They offer a two day trip and we are wanting to try that next…
