My son and I stopped by to grab some chocolates on a visit. The chocolates are on the higher side, as far as pricing. But... I think you get what you pay for and everything we got was absolutely delectable! It’s a beautiful bulking as well. If you want to splurge for some high quality treats, go for it!

Received a mail order gift. Some of the chocolates marked as 'Strawberry Rhubarb' however, they were actually butter cream. When I contacted DeBrand I was dimissed and simply told that wasn't possible and to send a picture, which wasnt possible. That was it.

I stopped in to the Coldwater Road location last week for a hot chocolate. I hadn't had one of theirs in years, but I remembered it being delicious. I spent over $7 for something that didn't taste any better than Swiss Miss! Very disappointed!

Hubby has a real love for chocolate and he wanted to try DeBrand while in this area. The shop on Coldwater was lovely with attentive staff. We asked if the chocolate was Swiss, Belgian etc and all they could say is that they are "fine chocolates"...little more staff education would be nice! We chose some truffles and some regular chocolates as well. The truffles were huge and quite a big sweet bite; we preferred the smaller chocolates. The caramels and hazelnut creams were very nice. Overall, a very delicious chocolate but at the very high end of the price range. If you're a chocolate lover, buy yourself a few pieces as a treat. Oh, the boxes are mad thick and sturdy...I will be keeping them for other uses!

What can be said about master chocolatiers? Tried a truffle but REALLY enjoyed the hot chocolate. Liked it so much I came back again the next day. They have tours, I didn't have time but wish I did, and when i come back to fort wayne, I'll take it. One of the best chocolates i've had outside of Belize.

We wanted to do the tour, but unfortunately, we were here on the wrong day. We did enjoy sampling several different creative flavors of fine chocolates. We also had a rich and delicious cup of hot chocolate. Perfect for a cold, snowy day!

We went on a tour of the DeBrand's on Auburn Road in Fort Wayne and found it very interesting. It was well worth the cost of admission (which can be credited towards a same-day, minimum purchase of their delicious chocolates and other products).
You see a film about the history of DeBrand's and its founders and then get a great behind the scenes tour of the facility which is where all of their hand made chocolates are made. The tour is complete with samples of the various chocolates as you're watching them being made.
We had no problem at all using the credit towards our purchase of chocolates at the end of the tour. We'd highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in chocolate as it's very informative as well as delicious!

We took this tour on a whim for something to do. What a great decision! It was on a Saturday afternoon, so there was no production in the factory, but that was quite alright! The tour was fun and full of information.......and quite a few chocolate tastes. The DeBrand chocolates are some of the best I have had. I made a few purchases and the smores package was one of them.....another good call. My advice....go and take the tour and enjoy some delicious chocolates!

If you are in Ft. Wayne, you need to visit this candy store. It's easy to locate near the Coliseum. The candy isn't inexpensive, but oh, so good. I bought the dark chocolate sea salt caramels (among a few other things) and I'm allowing myself one a day. This is fine chocolate. Check it out before you go at www.debrand.com

Thank you so much for your review! We understand that we are always able to compete on price but we NEVER compromise on quality. Hopefully we will see you in Fort Wayne again!

When you think of gourmet chocolates, you don't normally think of Indiana. But DeBrand Chocolates put the Hoosier State on the map!
DeBrand has three separate retail stores (one at Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center, one north on Coldwater Road, and one in the airport. All of the stores are decorated in a beautiful chocolatey mauve color and include small tables where you can enjoy their homemade ice cream sundaes or cup of hot chocolate.
But the corporate office on the far north side of the city offers not only a retail shop, but THE TOUR. After watching a short video, you walk back into the kitchen and see the chocolatiers hand-dipping their delicious candies. They even let you nibble samples!
The tour costs $5 -- but you receive a $5 coupon to use in the store. The tours are given only on certain days or by appointment, so be sure to call or visit their website so you don't miss out.
An added highlight: the owners are world travelers and art collectors. While you're there, notice the beautiful pieces of art scattered throughout. It's quite impressive.
Everyone has their favorites, but I'm addicted to the Classic Dark Chocolate Raspberry, the Coconut Cups, and the Caramel Truffles!

Any more specific info on what the tours are like? Some said it's mostly videos and small viewing windows while others say it's fantastic. We're afraid we'll end up going on a day in which not much chocolate-making is happening (it's happened to us on our only other candy factory tour at another place). I suppose there's no way to tell if candy is being made that day, although you think if tours are only on specific days and times they would be guaranteed to be making chocolates. Thanks!

Whether they are making chocolate hat day is a question for DeBrand.
I agree that the windows are small. It’s also true that the group size is limited. Maybe 15 or 20 people.
There were videos as well as a person who guided us and answered questions.
Is that what you wanted to know?
Several free samples maybe 6 or 8 per person. That was sweet—literally. 😀

Tours are conducted at 10105 Auburn Park Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825 and tour time depends on which day you are going. Tuesdays they are at 10AM and Thursdays they are at 1PM. You can find a lot of information on their website. Have fun!
