This sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna degli Emigrants is located approximately 1000 m. altitude, in the province of Bologna, in the Ronchidoso area in the municipality of Gaggiano Montano. It was built at the beginning of the last century at the behest of Monsignor Carlo Emanuele Meotti who chose the mountain overlooking Gaggiano Montano and numerous families who emigrated abroad sent financial contributions to make the construction possible. On the side of the church it is still possible to observe the rooms built to accommodate travelers and pilgrims. This sacred place is surrounded by pine and chestnut woods where you can stop to organize a pleasant picnic among the nature of these mountains. The picnic area adjacent to the Sanctuary is equipped with several tables with wooden benches and barbecue stations for grilling. Furthermore, this place has a high historical value linked to the period of the Second World War because it was the scene of a massacre. It is also an excellent crossing point for paths and excursions towards Monte Castello and Monte Belvedere. The festival is celebrated on the third Sunday of July with Holy Mass and Procession. Ample parking possibilities.
