We're Optimal Escape Evansville, and we've been an entertainer in Evansville, IN, since 2017. We offer a wide selection of services, including virtual reality rooms, traditional escape rooms, and printable rooms. All of our bookings are private, so you will never have to worry about being put with another group or playing with strangers. I want to send a HUGE shout out to Optimal Escape. I took a group of 12 year olds, and as 12 yr olds can be, were a little rambunctious. The lady operating the game was incredibly patient, offering hints, and walking them through how to solve clues while giving them just the right amount of time to try to solve on their own. She even had to go into the room 2x to help them. She never sounded exasperated or bothered. She was calm and kind the entire time. I was truly impressed with her professionalism, and felt like I needed to send her flowers after the event because of how much she had to deal with with the kids. (Not bad kids, just kids that do first read directions later, not good for escape room.) I believe the Area 51 room they did actually consisted of 3 rooms, and they got to put on costumes, which they loved. I highly recommend. Also, super easy to get to on Diamond and 41. They loved it and immediately wanted to go again, and are trying to con one of the other parents to take them this coming weekend!

This was my second trip to Optimal Escape. The lady working was amazing! She explained the game prior to starting. The puzzles are challenging and make you think. I've done Virus, Area 51 and Zombies. The zombie one is more difficult than the other two, but fun. We escaped all three rooms with a few minutes to spare. The service and price are great! Most escape rooms elsewhere are $37+ Optimal escape is $25 and well worth your money. We will be back.

Our son had been wanting to try an escape room for a long time so we finally decided to try it out. We selected Optimal Escape over other area escape rooms for our first time since you can have a private room. My sister has been there with her family as well and had a great time. We did the Catacombs, which is the easier of the current rooms. It was still challenging and our son asked for a couple of clues. We almost completed it- if we had 3 more minutes we would have had it! It was really fun and the staff was very nice. A lot of thought and time were put into the rooms, so it is definitely worth the price.

Very short woman with purple hair was horrible had to ring bell even though I was looking right at her she never acknowledged or said hi. Get to room it's literally freezing (but it is in a basement so kinda expected) she'll push to take off sweater I had to tell her I know my body for her to relax. My fiancé listened to her and took off his hoodie BIG mistake he was freezing. The game we did was VR space mission. It was a good game LOTS of puzzles in it that will have your mind in a pretzel. However the hint system kinda sucks because they offer 10 hint but if they give you a hint and you don't understand the hint they won't offer another hint your stuck with that one hint rather you understand or not so the rest of your hints will just sit there as time passes. Another staff member was late or called out because the woman was "trying" to assist us but had to keep leaving room. We literally were calling for her and she was gone. The when we mentioned it at the end she tried to deny it until I said no I took my headset off you were not here and I was calling because BOTH of our headsets were blurry to the point we couldn't read things or see unless closing one ey. (Neither of us were glasses) then she said yes I stepped out for a min. Lady stop first the lie but you were caught now it was a min. The she says y'all should've told me it was blurry when I was in here. So I respond we tried when we noticed but you left. Her respond oo sorry . We are out of towners so probably won't be back anyway but for others if you see her just ask for someone else or try again another day. Also I believe she's the owner which is even more sad.

My favorite aspect was that the booking is private. This is something I wish was standard in all escape room businesses, as our family prefers to be by ourselves when doing escape rooms. We did the Catacombs room. It was challenging, and I liked the different types of problems to solve. The staff was friendly and accommodating with their schedule as well when we asked if was possible to go earlier than scheduled. Look forward to trying out a different room in the future.

For my sons 16th birthday, I paid for him and 3 others to go to a VR room. They chose the Pirate room and completed it with 2 minutes to spare. They said the staff was amazing and they had so much fun. They are planning on trying another room soon, and telling everybody about it!

My adult-aged kiddos and I chose the CSI room and escaped with 8 min to spare. The variety of puzzles really bring out everyone's individual skills and knowledge. There was only one challenge I felt we couldn't have solved on our own, but you are allowed unlimited hints, so if you get stuck or frustrated, just ask. We had a blast. We'd definitely go back, especially if the games involve multiple rooms and have themes that aren't horror/gore.

Super fun experience. Good price, friendly staff, and immersive experience. Highly recommend.

The escape room was a blast! We almost made it out! 😅 Jill was super friendly and helped when needed! Highly recommend. Go check this place out if you have the time. My fiance and i did Area 51 and it did not disappoint.
