The National New York Central Railroad Museum will evoke nostalgic pangs in any railroad buff. It will also underscore the sorry state of train travel in the US today. Situated alongside the busiest mainline of the Norfolk Southern railroad, the constant din of mainline train traffic seems at odds with the sorry state of passenger railroading in the country. This... More

My husband and I took three of our boys, aged 14, 10 and 8. They loved the hands on exhibits and rolling stock that they could explore. The only thing I could complain about was that the staff was not overly friendly. I'm not going to say they were rude but most of them just walked around, not making eye... More

What a facility!! Lots of rolling stock, steam and diesel locomotives. A real must-see for Railroad and History buffs. Located right across from the New York Central train station - now AMTRAK, and on the main line of the Norfolk Southern, this is a train watchers delight also. Definitely worth a stop. Closed on Mondays though.

Nice museum for railroad memorabilia but the actual trains need a lot more work! Loved the toy train set up best!

Was a very nice visit with a very cute little train ride for all that gives more history of the trains and shows off some of the different ones they have

Stopped here on a whim and wasn't disappointed I really like the fact that you can actually go inside some of the old trains even though they haven't been restored. So many museums you have to look at things behind glass but here you can actually put your hands on history

Set up opposite to the Elkhart Railway Station, this museum has items covering its complete history, with uniforms, lanterns, old tools & dishware from the diners. There is a very interesting model train layout. There is also a children's section to keep them amused. They have rolling stock outside consisting of a locomotives, two diesels and several different carriages, some... More
