I have stayed at stationary RVs via Air BnB, they have been some of favorite travel accommodations. This museum is a unique hidden gem. Winabago is headquartered in this area. The best thing about this museum is that they let you climb into some of the RVs.

This is really a hidden gem. Even if you don't get into RVs and mobile homes, this is such an iconic piece of America and such a well-done museum that nearly anyone would enjoy it. The displays have a series of mobile homes and RVs/campers that are well-restored or very original, including some singular historic pieces such as the oldest known RV and Mae West's RV. You can go in some, but others have to be viewed via window; some step stars would have been appreciated here in front of some. The last part got a bit commercial but guessing they took displays from active makers and incorporated that into the museum. A little hard to get here form the highway due to the exits and backroad but worth it.

Was unaware that 80% of RVs are manufactured in and aroud Elkhart. This museum explores the history of the origins and development of the camper trailer and motor home from the covered Conestoga wagons to the modern luxury coaches available today. With many examples on display, it is very interesting to see how they went from being a simple basic trailer with a couple of beds to having expandible living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, etc. A very interesting place to visit and time well spent.
